chart from the 2007 @CDCgov
guide to pandemic preparation says in terms of mortality it’s just like a Category 2 flu pandemic (Category 1 is a typical year).

Know what actions the CDC proposes for a Cat 2 pandemic? Here’s a hint: not much.

“Should be noted also that in the Pandemic readiness plan which all the Dems point to as the "in place policy" that Trump should have followed mentions masks as suggested but not required. “

CDC points re C-19 being worse than the flu:

"Other signs and symptoms of COVID-19 may include change in or loss of taste or smell.

"...If a person has COVID-19, it could take them longer to develop symptoms than if they had flu.

"If a person has COVID-19, they may be contagious for a longer period of time than if they had flu.

"COVID-19 is more contagious among certain populations and age groups than flu. Also, COVID-19 has been observed to have more superspreading events than flu. This means the virus that causes COVID-19 can quickly and easily spread to a lot of people and result in continuous spreading among people as time progresses."

"...
Additional complications associated with COVID-19 can include:
"...there are currently no drugs or other therapeutics approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to prevent or treat COVID-19.

"...
Currently there is no vaccine to prevent COVID-19.

"...

Percentage of the population to be inflicted, 20% to 40% for all 5 categories

Once again proving what I've been saying about the "spike" in cases. There's no fucking spike in cases, there's a spike in testing and the positive test rate is falling within expectations

It's a concept too far over far too many heads

The covid death overcounting in Western democracies, which is used to keep the populace fearful and compliant while radical change ensues, has become absolutely farcical.

The American people must stand up and yell...

There are also other variables in play

1) Consistency in reporting
2) Consistency in measurement
3) Consistency in accuracy

What one country calls an illness or a cause of death or a cure or a case varies from other countries

The WHO concluded in 2000 YOU CAN'T COMPARE THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS BETWEEN COUNTRIES, BECAUSE THEY DON'T MEASURE VARIABLES CONSISTENTLY

So when talking about this stuff, it's impossible to arrive at consistent and accurate conclusions. Butt, as always, you can spin the shit out of it, depending on what party occupies the White House

Math is not a strongpoint for the idiots who believe everything they see on TV. When that mortality rate proved to be better than most in the world, they switched to the critical rise in cases. Of course cases go up when testing goes up. In addition, many indicate the number of cases is actually much, much higher than reported. The media won't close that logic loop by reporting that means mortality is actually much, much lower than reported.

See chart above to understand how we have over-reacted.

It's definitely worse than the Flu

And even if.....and I mean EVEN IF.....it's equivalent to the Flu......It' still deaths on top of the Flu that wouldn't be happening if this virus had never showed up.

So now we have ppl dying of the Flu during 'Flu Season', and ppl dying year-round from Covid.

There's nothing fictional about it guys

"The Coronavirus Has Killed More Americans Than Any Flu Season Since 1918

...deaths in the United States have now officially exceeded the number of total deaths from flu outbreaks or any other infectious disease outbreak in a single year or season since the 1918–19 influenza pandemic. And the Covid-19 death toll has also now exceeded the total number of Americans killed in WWI.Already, the pandemic had surpassed the combined U.S. deaths from the entire Vietnam and Korean wars...

... this one is far from over, experts say, and if the current wave continues into fall and potentially builds..."

How much even worse would it have been without extreme ways being taken such as shutdowns, distancing, masks, etc. Way, way worse.

It's worse than the flu and we over-reacted. Both can be true. Once we knew the European mortality demographics, we should have shut down nursing homes and protected other vulnerable people. (90% of those deaths were people over 70 with, at least, three underlying conditions). Instead, our nanny state and fear mongering MSM pushed the shutdown agenda trying to protect 350 million people.

Take a look at mortality in the seven states that didn't shutdown at all. Yes, they have cases and deaths, but in terms of mortality per 100,000, Iowa has the highest rate which is 25th in the country. Three of the other seven are in the bottom ten (best rate). We over-reacted and the MSM wants to ensure we stay scared. Thanks for contributing to that narrative.

There have been reports of deaths being more & less than reported.

"150,000 dead in the US and no end in sight

25 July 2020

By the end of this weekend, more than 150,000 Americans will have died of COVID-19.

The pandemic is raging out of control. On Friday, the United States shattered another record, recording 78,000 new cases in a single day. More than 1,100 more people succumbed to the disease.

The Centers for Disease Control now predicts that the US death toll will hit 175,000 by mid-August, and Dr. Scott Gottlieb, the former director of the Food and Drug Administration, says the death toll could double by the end of the year to 300,000. “I certainly don’t think we’re near the end of this,” Dr. Anthony Fauci told MarketWatch on Friday.

Dozens of hospitals in California, Texas and Florida are at capacity, and some have begun sending away patients they deem least likely to survive. Morgues in Mississippi and Texas are filling up, and hospitals around the country have rented refrigerated trucks to store the bodies. Referring to these states, White House Coronavirus Task Force Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx commented, “What we have right now are essentially three New Yorks.”
