Therefore Bill thinks the book shouldn't offer juicy long shot odds. The Field bet looks mighty juicy at +1800 but it must be a pretty thin field.

Bill was referring to NASCAR. Pete and Bill are drinking from the same Whiskey laced Dixie Cup.

As for Royal, I'm assuming that any driver that wins the race and is not listed above would give me a "field" win. I have no idea how many drivers are racing today.

wasnt necessarily knocking Royal, they have always treated me well, and been very helpful with contests...I for one, hope they make it...was just giving some constructive criticism on a promotion that at the least, didnt make any sense to me...
