hi guys. well i finally did it after 30 years, i quit gambling on 3-10-03 and joined GA. gambling was robbing too much of my life because thats all i had on my mind. my wonderful family was starting to suffer because of my compulsion to bet sports, and that i can't handle.

i'm not trying to convert anyone, just wanted to let a few of the guys that i used to chat with know that i won't be back. I sure did have some fun busting balls, and i will miss that part of the game, i won't miss the grief and aggravation.

goodbye and good luck. overand out.

drop me a line if you want to chat about non betting stuff oilslug@cs.com

Best wishes in your efforts. You have always been a good guy here and I hope you find peace and happiness. Keep us updated in a few months if you get a chance.

I have always admired men (and women) who do what they have to do in life. My wife was an alcoholic. Took two times through CHARTER to finally get it done but she hasn't had a drink in 9 years come September. I deeply respect her for that.

Slug - best of luck buddy. You are a wise man and I hope it works out for you. Drop me a line if you ever want to chat. You were one of the good guys around here.......

You'll never hear a guy who's up thirty grand on a craps table crying into a payphone, "Help meeeeee, I've got a proooooblem ..."

BOL to you slug, but one dependency replacing another is putting a Band-Aid on a bullet wound. Keith Moon was lulled into believing such a lie and it killed him when he OD'd on a drug he was taking to wean himself from alcohol. Worth bearing in mind.

Will miss your presence at any rate.

Slugster,

Ditto what Pat McIrish said. I admire your recoginition of a problem and actually doing something about it unlike most people. While I will miss you as a poster, best of luck in your future endeavors.
