Tell me about this O'Connor kid pitching for your Nationals today. Is he that good?

I know he has had a couple good starts, but is he good enough to where Oswalt is only a -145 favorite against him?

I don't know many pitchers that get that kind of respect...let alone a rookie. His numbers are impressive so far, but I have never seen him pitch.

What are your thoughts?

He wakes up around 2-3 everyday. He is going to intern for a company where me and his brother Juice work on Tuesday.

Good to see our company is hiring another useless person. Can’t wait to see this guy wake up and be in an office at 9.

Not skins but still an opinion. O'Conner is the best prospect the Nationals have not named Zimmerman. He is a lefty that is able to pound the strike zone with good stuff. He has held two good hitting teams in check in St Louis and the Mets his last times out so he may have success with a Houston lineup that runs hot and cold however Houston does have a team that is built to hit lefties which is my major concern.

Thanks man...tough to pass on Oswalt at this price against a youngster. Hell, it is tough to pass on this price on Oswalt against anyone.

Clip, if you don't have baseball prospectus, a whale like you should get it. Great book.

On to Oconnor..dominated upper a ball last year..

RED GLAG!!!!
15 WALKS TO 20 K'S IN 28 INNINGS AND 3 HOMERS ALLOWED.
HR Rate barely acceptable for that ballpark
Strong K Numbers
HORRIBLE BB/9 (4.83) I always aim for sub 2.95 in the NL
BAD BAD BAD BAD BB/K RATIO! (3/4)

This kid is a time bomb. Needs further seasoning.

Hey Clip, sorry, just saw this...O'Connor has pitched better than expected so far, but he still has a long ways to go. I actually just finished capping today's games and was very surprised to see Oswalt at that low a price. If I wasn't a Nats fan, I'd probably bet on them. O'Connor could be a solid #3 in the future(2 is a stretch), but he's going to have major ups and downs this season. Having said that, the Astros aren't really hitting right now either, and the Nationals hardly ever do.

Still, I could see Oswalt dominating today. Maybe a 6-1 game. Hope I'm wrong and O'Connor shuts 'em down. That price is suspiciously low, though...O'Connor isn't that good and is commanding way too much respect.

GO NATS

I rarely (closer to never) play run lines. I don't know many teams that try to win games by 2 runs. Too many 1 run games that eat into profits with run lines.

Hate to root against ya, Clip...but at least if the Nats lose you'll cash. Definitely think Oswalt at that price is a bargain. GL.

I don't remember what the ML was, but relative to the openers I felt there was value. Some trepidation on my part as that is a severe pitchers park.

Thanks man...pretty big bet for me. I appreciate your insight as I fealt O'Connor was getting too much respect for early success. Oswalt is among the elite in the league and the Washington offense has really struggled to score runs all season.

Houston needs to give Oswalt some run support though...they always seem to struggle with this on the road. I'm hoping the youngster has a rough outing to get his ERA and stats up to where they belong.

O'Connor's due to get shelled. He's all offspeed and breaking balls, if he's off by just a little, he'll get killed because he has no margin of error.
