I'll be cruising to Bermuda for the next week, so I'm doing a few posts for next weeks games.
@ Washington pk vs Jets
1. 40 yr old Vinny replaces Chad - Vinny is OLD! He'll have a hard time piecing 4 good quarters together - especially with Chrebet being the only farmiliar face leftto throw the ball to.
2. The Jets special teams - wqhich WERE good, is now the 'Skins special teams which IS good, thanks to John Hall and Chad Morton leaving the Jets for Washington in free agency.
3. The Jets front office did a terrible job of finding quality free agency replacements for those players, such as Hall, Morton, and Coles, that left for "greener" pastures. This team just ain't as good as it was last year when they made the playoffs with a 9-7 record.
4. Hermans "out of the gate" record was 3-4 in '00 for the first 7 games played, and 2-5 in '02; with an injury and free agency decimated team, Herman will be lucky if he can work up an 8-8 year for the Jets.
Add it all up and you have a Washington win. Although I think this is still a high value bet at Pk, I jumped on it a month ago - before Chad got hurt, at Washington +3 for two units.
