If any of you have Sirius right now they are offering free All Access till May 15 with no credit card. My one year subscription was up on April 7th. They are currently offering a $99 special for year plus taxes and fees. I told the agent why should I renew now when you are giving the service away for free till May 15. I countered with $50 including all taxes and fees for one year. Usually they will bargain with you. This time they let me cancel with no counter offer. The company is going to lose a ton of subscribers. I imagine their share price which is $4.48 from a high of $7.40 is going to plummet too. I was really surprised they let me walk as I have been a subscriber for 12 years. Customer retention is so important. They have a real issue right now in that they can't talk to customers. You can only live chat. I guess they figure they will pick up new subs with a 45 day free listening period. If you were to pick the worse Black Swan event to kill satellite radio other than their satellites falling out of the sky this is it.

Funny I was about to cancel this, they upped price and my yearly is coming due. Like $260/year now, fuck that, not even close to worth it.
I will keep it for $99.

I feel like I pay a shit load. I actually called them Friday afternoon to renegotiate my deal and decided to hang up as I wanted to listen to music and didn’t feel like listening to hold music. I listen to the Sirius app a lot at work.

I’ll try to call tomorrow

They make it really really hard to cancel subscription. Which makes me want to cancel it even more. Infuriating.

They removed the customer service number from their site. They were forced to shut down call centers. Live chat only. The $99 offer is fair but it doesn't include taxes and fees. I negotiated with them last time and got All Access for $154 out the door which included all taxes and fees. I think when they add the Royalty Fee to All Access for $99 it brings the price up to $150. I don't know I never got that far.

I have the All everything package in my car and my wife has a lesser package (no Howard or vsin). Also have the app which I listen to daily. Not sure what I pay but I feel it’s a lot but i only listen to Howard or follow the money in the mornings and listen to the app at least 10 hours a week at work

Thanks for the reminder thread.

My customer service agent wouldn't budge off $99. I don't know if your deal is $7 plus royalty fees and taxes.

Hang up on them next time Jack. They don't quote the same deals to every caller.

Last Thursday I got an email saying they were going to charge me $130 for 6 months. I called them right away and talked to an agent. I gave her a song and dance I wanted to cancel because I do not use my car much anymore with what is going on in our country. (My highlight of my day is getting in my car and listening to 70s and 80s hits and VSIN, Brent Musberger's Vegas show) Well she shuffles her papers and says she can get $75 for 6 months. I told her I just cancel. She shuffled again and offered me $50 for 6 months. I said no again. She asked what would make happy. I told them $70 for the full year and she did not hesitate and said we have a deal.

I FINALLY got through to sirius and gave them my cell number and we texted a new deal.

I have the all everything package where i get all the channels and can listen online and on my phone
My wife just has the regular package where she can only listen in her car with no howard or other premium channels (she only listens to music anyways)

I was paying $320 a year (wow) and just recevied a 12 month promo for $115.55 (including fees and taxes)
My wife was paying $175 a year and just recevied a 12 month promo for $71.27 (including fees and taxes)

10 minutes of texting just saved me 60% and $300 for the year

Anyone wonder why people are getting Sirius for free during the COVID deal when the other longtime customers are still paying for the service?

That was my argument to them when my bill was up as I have already stated. The free period is ending May 31st so I will have to sign a new deal. The company is still crushed due to the virus. I am actually surprised it rebounded off the low and is back to $5.27 from $4.11. Even as things get back to normal are new car sales ever going to get back to what they were. Not with working from home as the preferred choice of businesses. If people aren't driving as much they will put off a new car purchase. This is how Sirius gets new subs. The same goes for people who aren't buying new cars. If you're not commuting why pay for satellite radio. Vacation trips closer to home, again why do need satellite radio if you aren't driving that far. If you are home you can get hundreds of different stations listening on your computer. You can also do that in your car with your phone but you can't change the station while your driving. You can at home. Sirius should have offered me a bigger discount than the $99 which actually is around $150 with taxes and fees. They shouldn't have left a subscriber who has been with them since Howard came over to leave. Even if they get a vaccine Sirius will never get the growth they had prior to the virus. I will probably just sign up again for the $99/150 deal. No matter how you look at I still ended up getting around 2 months for free.
