I used to bet this league but have mostly forgotten about them until recently. I used to go to the Subway Sandwich shop for lunch which is right across the street from the Tampines football stadium.

I see some good opportunities with the home/away angle so I thought I would post some picks. You would think on an island that measures 20 miles by 40 miles that there wouldn't be much of an advantage with home teams but I guess there is.

Singapore - S-League
Gombak United -0.5 1.41 over Woodlands Wellington FC
I realize this is rather chalky but Gombak is a monster at home scoring 16 goals while only giving up 3 goals in 8 home matches. They are 5 points out of 1st so they will want a win here. They have won their last 4 home matches.

Woodlands has 7 goals and has given up 17 goals in 8 road matches.

Don't know what happened here but that's soccer. Sometimes the ball takes funny bounces.

More later.

Singapore Armed Forces FC -0.5 -140 over Gombak United
OK, Gombak screwed me over in my first pick by losing to Woodlands at home. Well now they are on the road to the best team in the league.

Armed Forces has scored 23 goals while only giving up 8 goals in 8 home matches. They have won 7 out of those matches and now play Gombak who are in 2nd place and showing weakness.

Go lightly on this one since this is only my 2nd bet this season.

Nice to see you on this as well, I actually put the bet in last night on Armed Forces ML but did not get a chance to post, well that's another W in the bank they won 4-1! Seems like home advantage means a lot to some of these Singaporian teams...btw.

Yeah, it's hard to understand why home field means so much on an island. It's not like these teams are travelling 3000 miles. It's more like the Angels visiting the Dodgers.

Some lower teams have really good results at home and bad results on the road. I'm not talking about slightly under .500 either.

I'm thinking something may be wrong with Gombak for them to get beat this bad even in this situation and to get beat at home last match. It will be interesting to follow.

I agree about Gombak, I actually figured they would put up a fight so I layed a small chunk on the draw as well...was expecting a 2-1 type of win for AF. Something must be wrong with their club/organization at the moment.

Super Reds -104 over Geylang United
Going with the home favorite again. SR's have 11 goals for and 6 goals against in 8 home matches and have won 4 out of their last 5.

Geylang has 7 goals for and 17 goals against in 8 away matches and have lost their last 6 away matches.

Already on it buddy, let's cash another W!

7:45am Eastern time. I believe they are on the other side of the Earth from Eastern time so it should be 7:45pm local time.

Let's get this one.

I wish I could find totals on Singapore Armed Forces games. I would play them and the over and probably win both sides each time.

Nice job.

Me too coach. I've noticed that 16 of the last 19 games have gone over 2 1/2. But keep in mind that the total line would probably be higher just like it is for some of the lower Norwegian leagues.

Shit man, so listen to this, I just woke up about 10 minutes ago so I turn on my laptop and scoreboard, I see the Supers are winning 1-0.

So I go to take a shit, come back less than 5 minutes later...and Geylang now leads 2-1? They scored 2 goals in 2 minutes?

Tell me this one doesn't stink.

Geylang scores in 57'
Geylang scores in 59'

This all happened as I was dropping logs...did I jinx it?

LOL at least we can find some humor in an awful loss...

I didn't watch the game or nothin' but this one smells like a fix to me.

SRBI's log, stardate 56':

"Time to take a dump."

Little did you know that Geylang was that the Super Reds were listening to your log. Were you twittering from the throne room?

Tampines Rovers -0.5 -126 over DPMM FC
Going with the home favorite here again. If this doesn't hit I'll re-think the season. Tampines has scored 16 goals while only giving up 3 in 9 home matches.

DPMM has scored 7 goals while giving up 10 goals in 9 away matches.
