I don't have anything in common with them.

I'm in my mid 30s and through experience, I don't enjoy hanging around people in their early 20s. I'm very laid back and my idea of a good night out is closing down Buffalo Wild Wings watching football all night instead of hitting clubs.

Most of these guys are light weights too. The drink a couple of beers and have a few shots and they are making an ass of themselves by trying to pick a fight or chase some girl they have no chance with. I'm a seasoned beer drinker who can put down 12 beers without catching a buzz and when I do have my fill, I head for a house without a scene or one girl rejecting me.

Its nothing personal, just the way I am.

Got to admit, I would sign up for the BWW for sure. When did we get old?

Don't knock the kids for letting their hair down. 25 years ago, I came home(5:30 AM) when I now get up. Sports wagering was much different back then. Been there done that. I'm off for my morning jog. Good Luck

I agree Vegas is sweltering; and just before foots is less than ideal; and my children start school the next week, but I also think it's nice to get comped rooms for weekend (which for a low-roller like me is not EZ); and it's always good to see Vegas again.

As an older member of Rx, in age anyway, I do feel that "it's mostly for the younger crowd;21-35" ; but I also have made some super valuable contacts, which have helped my betting skills and bankroll immensely. I suggest you young pups try meeting a few of the Geritol generation.

Finally; Is there a better person to see than Kermit???
Case dismissed..!

for me its kids and jobs and other responsibilities. I do get my once a year crazy trip away form family with buddies away but I choose L'Ville for the Derby Week for that get away. Thats all I need. Vegas is a town full of negative expecation wagers also! not a good place to gamble in my opinion. Ive been there several times but last time was 14 years ago. Would be fun to meet some of the forum characters however.

I wish I knew.

I had to get up 3 times last night to pee.

I'm usually in bed before 11.

It takes me a medium bucket of balls to warm up before a round of golf.

Its just going to get worse, maybe I should do a sit-up once in a while.

Don't trust anyone under 30.

You older guys remember the movie "Wild In The Streets"?

Wild in the Streets was a popular 1968 movie, produced and released by American International Pictures, and based on a short story by writer Robert Thom. The movie, described as both "ludicrous" and "cautionary" became a cult classic.

I think perceptions of mid 20s people on this board are very skewed then, unfortunately, and for the worse.

My perception on mid 20s is based completely on non gamblers. I think no matter what age of gamblers, we all have something in common.

You and Skins are two posters I hope I get a chance to meet someday.

Look at all the dumb threads and posts in the sports forums.

If you survey these stupid posts, I am pretty sure the majority of them are from youngsters. They are the reason it is better never to follow plays here.

I agree with the 'gamblers in common' statement. Also agree, numerous threads in the sports forums are started by guys closer to my age than yours. I think we'd all be surprised at how diverse that particular segment of the RX is, however. Have had some of that group email me before - very interesting how many are closer to their 40s than their teenage years.

Overall, would still agree with your statements, but I think the Bash is different in that everyone's agendas are more or less aligned - maybe it's different for me now that getting to Vegas is less of a chore, and having been there a few times lately, I don't need the feel to go nuts out there

D do you think most 20 year olds carry themselves more like you or 5star ?

Several folks in this thread I would enjoy meeting at the Bash. As someone in the middle, not young or old, I would say the majority of Bash attendees are older than I am. Not a great deal of young Vegas idiot partying posters attend. The ones that do are probably more intimidated by the older posters than anything.

The crowd that runs their mouth and acts like idiots on here does not show up at all.

I respect all posters young and old, but can tell you 3 of the 5 most intelligent posters on here in my opinion are under 30. Of course, you would not know it unless you met them and not judged them by their posts.

It's mostly a chance to put a face with a name and to sit around shooting the shit. There are a few outside activities that may be of the Vegas-partying ilk, but they are not the focus. Hopefully, the posters that haven't attended get a chance to attend sometime in the future.
