Shopping for a new laptop....anyone have good ideas?

Dante, Dell Latitude ROCKS. I have been using one heavy duty as my primary computer for 3 years...no probs whatsoever and the original cost was under a dime.

Dell makes a great product, but their casing on their laptops make their computers look cheap.

Fujitsu or Toshiba have great external cases. They have the "show" with the "go."

I got a Dell Inspiron laptop a couple of months ago. I don't think the metal case looks cheap so either its a matter of opinion or you are referring to a different case.

anyone have a gateway??? if so how do you like it thanks

I got my new laptop because the screen on my Gateway died. It was so dim you could only see it in a room with a low lighting level. It was a standard TFT screen and I was informed they should last 10 years. Mine was 3 years old and I wanted to get some more mileage out of it. Maybe I just got a lemon and take this anecdote FWIW.
