I am definently feeling the Canes here. It seems like they have a very mature squad. Not one to get too wound up in last week's emotional victory.

Throw in a revenge factor and I can definently see the Canes rolling the Bees here.

The thing that gets me, Josh Nesbitt absolutely blows chunks. He's a pure option QB and cannot pass for shit. Randy Shannon has 8 guys returning on defense that faced this garbage last year and they'll be ready for it. It seems common sense to stack against the Ga Tech's run.

Taking the -5.5 at SportsInteraction as its climbing to 6 at places.

like i said before the only thing that concerns me about the game is the head coach, randy absolutely has done alot for the kids in the city and is like a father figure to many of the kids but when it comes down to gameday coaching he just doesnt get it and i feel he will cost the canes atleast a game this year, i also think him being great for recruiting is overhyped a bit, i think all the bulls players would of still went to miami to try and bring the program back, i actually think he has lost alot of recruiting battles since he became head coach, it all comes down to winning though, and what a difference of last year under nix to this year with whipple nite and day

He is a fantastic recruiter. This team is still young, he brings in great talent every year. Many kids choose not to come to certain schools in fear that they will not get the playing time they want. If these players were so good that chose S FLA over Mia then why has S FLA team blown goats the last couple years? Havent been worth a damn since Grothe was a freshman.

I expect better discipline this year Sekrah though the FSU game left a lot ot be desired. I saw a team which made mental errors and I think the win was a fortunate one.
I personally believe revenge, trends, are overrated. For instance you say revenge angle OK I can easily come at you with this trend which leave most handicappers salivating:

Johnson's road pointspread record: 34-13 in last 47 games.

Also didn't Nebraska beat Mizzou 24 straight, you could've played the revenge angle there and lost 23 times in a row.

I'm not a big fan of Nesbitt and when betting I want to have the better QB if I'm on the road and this isn't the case here.

Gun to the head: I'll take the +6

Sorry forgot to add that Miami hasn't been world beaters either, but the talent has gotten better over all since Shannon took over. Offensive Coaching had alot to do with the Fall of Miami.

First of Randy Shannon is taking less and less responsibility and giving it to his assistants. Mr. Shannon as stated in my Week 1 thread knows what he is and that's merely a figure head with some say on defense but that's it. To say that the recruiting has been down yes but mostly due to lack of winning and the previous HC. We are currently only behind Florida in our state and should stay above FSU this year and possibly the next couple seasons with Harris under center. Also its important to note recruiting has changed drastically over the years with BCS programs able to recruit kids from the south. Why? Financial resources, TV exposure, etc. Teams like Michigan (see Robinson, etc.), Alabama, Notre dame, etc. and above all the monopoly that has become the Florida Gators have tapped heavily into our resources. Having said that expect Miami to starting winning some wars starting in 2010. GL my friend

Like the Cuse play. I think they win straight up. Their 0-2 against Big Ten teams, but played both teams tough, and are now facing by far their weakest opponent of the season. Cuse should be hungry for a win over the Big Ten.

Nevada vs Colorado State

Value: -4.5
Spot: BYU look ahead for CSU, Nevada 2 weeks to prepare
Perception: 0 pts vs ND, 2-0 start for Rams, getting pts @ home
Match up: CSU won't be able to stop Nevada offense while Nevada pass defense won't be exposed by rams

West Virginia vs Auburn

Value: -7.5
Spot: home, chip on their shoulder,WVU road after revenge game
Perception: Too many points for a WVU that has had more recent success than there opponent.
Match up: Trenches will be well fought but overall better talent goes to the Tigers, better coaching, deeper backfield

NW vs Cuse

Value: PK
Spot: home, possible look ahead for cats with Big 10 games starting next week, Maine next week for Cuse=no look ahead
Perception: 2-0 vs 0-2 what else? Hmmm its Syracuse and you only have to lay the 3!
Match up: besides QB (let Nassib play) I think teams match up very evenly, Cuse D should keep the game close throughout. Turnovers key as usual.

Arizona vs Iowa

Value: +3
Spot: Ultimate Sandwich game for Iowa, ISU last week/Penn State next week.
Perception: Unimpressive wins by Zona, on the road, Iowa just pulverized ISU 35-3
Match ups: Tough match up for Stanzi/wideouts, give me Scott/Grisby plus the points in what should be a grind it out game

FIU vs Rutgers

Value: -19.5
Spot: FIU traveling to Jersey after Alabama week, Rutgers @ home playing with a chip on their shoulder
Peception: FIU covered against Bama, Rutgers down year, etc.
Match ups: Rutgers has more depth and talent, better coaching, like the kid Savage at home

Like the 'Cuse picks! I'll be there...doing whatever I can to help the Orange win (guzzling Dome Foam and yelling obscenities.)

I feel a big day ahead for Orange RB Delone Carter (my avatar) - the Northwestern defensive line is having trouble dealing without John Gill - especially with how DE Wooten is slacking (14 sacks LY - 1 tackle so far this year.) This should be the Orange Offensive Lines easiest task (still no gimme) after facing a good PSU DL and O.K. Minny DL. Northwesterns O not nearly what it was last year after the departure of Bacher, Sutton, and Peterman...Kafka has yet to even throw a TD pass against Towson and Eastern Mich.

I've got 'Cuse 27-20:toast:
