This is an interesting “regional” interleague matchup as the Washington Nationals and Doug Fister (7-2, 2.93) matchup with the Baltimore Orioles and Bud Norris (7-5, 3.62) Fister has been terrific for the Nationals and is 7-1 over his last nine starts, while Norris is making his first start since June 21st as he comes off the disabled list. This looks to be the best pitching matchup of the day with Max Scherzer taking the ball for the Tigers, and Zack Greinke topping the hill for the Dodgers. There is one huge difference, however, and that is where this game is being played, in Detroit. Scherzer owns a 60-27 record when pitching at home for his career, and Grienke is 71-25 as a home favorite. Greinke's stellar numbers disappear on the road where he is 56-84. That is a huge factor here for this one as Greinke goes from elite as a home favorite to poor on the road. Those numbers continue to haunt him as he Dodgers just 1-4 in his last five road starts. The Tigers are 41-11 behind Scherzer in his last 52 home starts. Back Detroit.
