Kevin's Pick(s):

A winner last night as the Orioles used some late runs to win 8-3. One play for me tonight listed below. Tonight I'm going to be making the 2 hour drive to Detroit to catch the Tigers/Blue Jays at Comerica Park, so I'm hoping the weather clears up this evening in Detroit!
2 UNIT = San Francisco Giants @ Cincinnati Reds - GIANTS TO WIN (+104)
Listed Pitchers: Vogelsong vs Cingrani
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 2.08 units)
-- write up to come this afternoon
Kyle's Pick(s)
2 UNIT = Toronto Blue Jays @ Detroit Tigers - OVER 9 RUNS (+103)
Listed Pitchers: Dickey vs. Porcello
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 2.06 units)
It took 9 innings, but the bats finally came around last night. It wasn't until the top of the 9th that any runs were scored, but the final total hit 8 runs. The Blue Jays scored 5 in the top of the 9th and the Tigers tried to comeback but only managed to put 3 on the scoreboard. Both of these offenses are capable of putting runs up in a hurry, and I think we'll be getting them more often in this matchup tonight. R.A. Dickey has really benefited from playing in the dome in Toronto. Whatever it is, Dickey has looked much better playing with the dome closed. Likewise, he hasn't been as sharp on the road. Dickey's road ERA climbs all the way to 6.23 compared to 3.48 at home. If his knuckleball isn't dancing around too much, it is game and he should get hit hard against the Tigers. His WHIP is also high with a 1.75 ERA on the road and .369 OBP. Rick Porcello has done a good job for the Tigers this season, no doubt about that. However, just like Dickey, when he is off he is off. Porcello had several starts last season where he allowed 7 or more runs. Two starts ago Porcello gave up 7. He also gave up 5 to the Padres early in the season. He currently has a decent 3.68 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. Both teams have been hammering the ball this season against right-handers, the Jays hitting .262 and the Tigers at .267. I'll take the OVER at plus money on two of the better hitting teams in the league against a couple of average pitchers.

Milwaukee @ Minnesota

Free Pick: Minnesota +100

The Minnesota Twins aren't exactly an elite team, nor have they been over the last decade or so, but they have had a decided edge at home in interleague play where they own a 58-36 record in their last 94 games against the senior circuit. The Brewers are getting a lot more respect than they deserve here as they have a great record, but all of it was built early in the season. Over their last 32 games, Milwaukee is 15-17. They have a poor track record on the road in interleague play when facing a right handed pitcher that has left them at 15-36 in their last 51. Milwaukee has been hammered in this series of late at just 4-11 in their last 15 in Minnesota, and an even worse 1-6 in the last seven meetings overall. Minnesota gets the call in this one.

Hump day Double 5* MLB Power system pack with 15-1 + 16-2 League Wide systems and the Stanley Cup Game 1 analysis. MLB Power angle MLB Totals Below

On Wednesday the MLB play is on the under in the Pirates at Padres game. Rotation numbers 951/952 at 6:40 eastern. This game has several statistical indicators and angles that pertain to the under and a low scoring game. The Pirates have played under in 16 of their last 19 day games, while averaging 2.3 runs on .210 hitting under the sun. The Padres have gone under 10 straight times at home vs leftys since last season and have played under in 9 of 10 overall this season vs lefthanders. The Padres also struggle to score in day games, having played under in 11 of 15 while scoring 2.6 runs averaging .209. The Pitching also suggests an under here. F. Liriano for the Pirates has a 2.70 road era and has gone under in all 6 road stats this season. In the month of June the past few years Liriano teams have played under in 9 of 10 of his way starts. Today he will be matched up against San Diego righty Ian Kennedy. In his home starts he has pitched under in 2 of 3 and has allowed just 4 earned runs in 21 innings and he has been particularly effective over his last 3 outings. Look for a low scoring game that stays under the total. On Wednesday we have 3 Big Plays up. In MLB We have 2 big 5* MLB System winners up from 15-1 and 16-2 systems + the Complete Game 1 Analysis of the Stanley Cup matchup. Jump on and bring the bang to your book on Hump day. For the Bonus Play take the under in the Pittsburgh at San Diego game. GC

Wednesday's MLB Betting Cheat Sheet

Rays Road Woes

The Tampa Bay Rays have lost 10 straight road contests, going 3-7 over under in that span thanks to the fact they just can't score runs. During their skid the Rays have only scored 1.9 runs per game, plating 2 or less runs in eight of the 10 games, including being shut out three times.

Cleveland Rocks

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the Cleveland Indians have won eight straight home games, five of those as the favorite. The Indians try to sweep away the Boston Red Sox Wednesday as -138 favorites. Cleveland is 6-2 when Corey Kluber takes the mound as a favorite.

Reeling Red Birds

The St. Louis Cardinals have lost seven of their last nine games, losing all those games as the favorite. Wednesday night they are listed at -138 with ace Adam Wainwright set to take the mound against the Kansas City Royals. The Cardinals are 3-6 over/under in that stretch.

Pitching Notes

Daisuke Matsuzaka will make his second start of the season for the New York Mets Wednesday when they visit the Chicago Cubs. Dice-K has spent most of the season in the bullpen going 1-0, giving up four runs in 16 relief appearances. Matsuzaka won his only start 4-2 against Arizona on May 25.

The under has been a strong play when Ryan Vogelsong has been on the mound for the San Francisco Giants as an underdog, going 2-11 over/under in his last 13 starts when that is the case. The total for Wednesday's matchup with the Cincinnati Reds (-109) is currently set at 8.

Hitting Notes

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Nelson Cruz blasted his league leading 21st home run of the season in the Orioles 8-3 win over his former team the Texas Rangers. The Orioles are 10-9 SU and 12-7 over/under when Cruz goes deep. The O's are listed at -109, 9 for Wednesday's matchup with the Rangers.

Jon Sinleton, the latest of the Houston Astros elite prospects to get called up to the big leagues, homered in his major league debut, helping the Astos to a 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels. The Astors (+144, 8.5) expect big thing from Singleton, giving him a $10 million contract before getting called up.

Totals Streak

Boston Red Sox (0-7 over/under): The roller coaster season for the Red Sox continues. After following up their 10 game losing streak they won seven in a row before dropping two to former manger Terry Francona and the Cleveland Indians. Boston is giving up just 2 runs per game during this under streak.

Injury Notes

Josh Hamilton returned to the lineup for the Los Angeles Angels for the first time since tearing a ligament in his thumb April 8, but lost Mike Trout due to an ailing back. Hamilton hit a solo homer in the Angels 7-2 loss to the Houston Astros, while Trout will be re-evaluated Wednesday.

The season gets worse for the Tampa Bay Rays, who found out they have lost right fielder Wil Myers for up to two months due to a stress fracture in his right wrist. Myers is batting .227 with five homers and 25 RBIs for the last place Rays.

Weather Watch

There is a 76 percent chance of rain, with a chance of thunderstorms at Progressive Field for Wednesday's matchup between the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians. There will also be an eight mph wind blowing in from right field.

Umpire Stat of the Day

Joe West will be calling balls and strikes when the San Diego Padres host the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday night. West is the majors best over umpire, compiling a 8-1 over/under record when he is behind home plate this season.

Rockies' OF Carlos Gonzalez, doubtful Wednesday

Gonzalez was forced to leave Tuesday's game with left index finger injury and is not expected to return for Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

Hamilton returns to Angels but Trout leaves with ailing back

Angels left fielder Josh Hamilton was in the midst of a scorching hot

start to the 2014 season before an unfortunate decision to slide head first into first

base against the Seattle Mariners on April 8 resulted in his tearing a ligament in his

left thumb, an injury that cost him 48 games.

Hamilton was batting .444/.545/.741 with two home runs and six RBIs over eight games

before landing on the 15-day disabled list on April 9 and subsequently undergoing thumb

surgery. On Tuesday night, he returned to action in the Angels' 7-2 loss and picked up

right where he left off, finishing 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run. In his first at-bat, Hamilton hit a blast to straightaway center field that would have cleared the fence in most parks but was flagged down by Dexter Fowler.

"It felt good, I felt calm, I was seeing the ball, and overall, the at-bats felt good," Hamilton said.

With Hamilton back in the fold, the Angels were hopeful of finally putting their primary lineup on the field and getting the chance to watch that group work in concert. However, after one trip through the batting order, that dream was deferred when center fielder Mike Trout departed with mid-back discomfort after striking out in his first at-bat. Trout had missed the previous two games with lower-back stiffness and leaves the Angels wondering when he will be healthy enough to return unencumbered.

"We'll definitely take a half-step back here and try to figure out what's going on," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.

Line for Game 1 moving towards Kings

The line for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is on the move when the Los Angeles Kings host the New York Rangers Wednesday at the Staples Center.

The Kings opened as -150 favorites to take Game 1 of the series and have since moved to -153 and then to -156 as of early Wednesday morning.

Los Angeles is favored to win the series at -180, while New York is listed at +157 according to Sportsbook.ag.

Rangers know 'hands are full' vs. powerful Kings

Despite a relatively even workload to this point in the playoff season, the Los Angeles Kings faced a much rockier road than the New York Rangers to reach the Stanley Cup finals.

By getting through the Western Conference gauntlet, the Kings are the favorite heading into the title series that begins Wednesday in Los Angeles.

"I think that perception is out there," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said. "The experts probably favor the L.A. Kings quite a bit. That's not going to change our approach, what we think we need to do."

The Kings played the maximum number of games to get to the finals, beating the San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks in decisive Game 7s on the road.

While the Rangers don't have quite as much tread on their tires, they aren't far behind, beating the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins in seven games in the first two rounds before topping the Montreal Canadiens in six games in the Eastern Conference finals.

NOTES: Rangers LW Daniel Carcillo is eligible to play in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals after his 10-game suspension for striking an official was reduced to six games upon appeal. The NHL Players' Association asked the league to review his suspension, which he received for abusing linesman Scott Driscoll, a violation of Rule 40.3, during the first period in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals. The case was heard by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman. ... The Kings are the first team in NHL history to win three Game 7s on the road in one playoff year to advance to the Stanley Cup finals. ... Kings G Jonathan Quick was banged up in practice Tuesday when he was struck in the collarbone with a shot. According to coach Darryl Sutter, Quick will be in the net Wednesday for Game 1. Sutter indicated that he is not concerned about Quick's status, adding, "Jonathan is a tough guy. He's probably the first guy out of the room."

SELECTION:
BALTIMORE ORIOLES -115

(Norris/Martinez)
Texas which is always known for having heavy hitters has seen this lineup going silent. I think the Orioles are a better baseball team right now and Norris is a better pitcher than Martinez who doesn’t have a great strikeout/walk ratio. Martinez is not as good as his numbers who indicate as he has been bailed out of some really tough jams with runners in scoring position. Take the Orioles.

2* Milwaukee Brewers

The twins got the better of them last night, as the brewers had an off night to say the least. Struggling 2-12 with runners in scoring position and had the lead most of the game. However they still reign with the top 6 pitching staff in MLB and with the Twins at the bottom of that in 29th of 30th in pitching the brewers won’t get caught a 2nd time. Not to mention Brewers own the best road record in the N.L. Central at 16-11. Not to mention to get Juice on our side with this, we take all day long

Brewers + 103

NHL PICK

The Lord Stanley begins tonight and two teams that have traveled different paths over the last 20 years. Kings are at home and playing some of the best hockey of the season not to mention over the last 3 seasons has been one of the finest organizations’ in the NHL. As the Rangers roll in looking to hold up that cup in over 20 years and people in New York are Ready. This series in my opinion has Lundqvist written all over it. This is His time to make it happen and prove why he is the best in net. It’s not going to be easy as LA is the highest scoring team in the playoffs averaging over 3.5 goals a game and over 30 shots a game. They are big strong and fast and can strike quickly.

However the Rangers are no beginners and have cleaned up Philly Pittsburgh and the Canadians whom was this year’s surprise team for sure. Lundqvist has shut everyone down and the rangers have the best defense scoring unit and power play unit on the ice. The rangers cannot afford to let this 1st game get out of control and Lundqvist has to be ready to roll which leads us to Quick on the other side of the net for the Kings. His numbers are as equal as Lundqvist which leads us to the 1st true Goalie Stanley cup in a number of years. 926% vs 906 % Save %.

Tonight we take the under 5. This 1st game is all about the Man behind the Mask. Not to mention the Kings vs Eastern conference is 35-11-8 in unders.

2* Under 5 -120
