•Phillies RH Roberto Hernandez (2-5, 4.26 ERA, WHIP: 1.492) - Winless since May 4, Hernandez fell to 0-4 in his last eight appearances after allowing two runs on three hits in 5 2/3 innings versus the Chicago Cubs on Friday. The 33-year-old Dominican was ejected after hitting Starlin Castro, who belted a two-run homer earlier in the contest. Hernandez continues to struggle with his control, issuing 34 walks in 67 2/3 innings this season while handing out eight free passes in 13 frames in his career versus Atlanta.

•Braves RH Aaron Harang (5-5, 3.20 ERA, WHIP: 1.269) - Harang recorded his first victory since May 11, permitting one run on four hits in six innings against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. One reason the 36-year-old is on the cusp of passing last season's win total is his ability to keep the ball in the park this year. After yielding 26 homers in as many starts last season with Seattle and the New York Mets, Harang has allowed just four in 84 1/3 innings in 2014.

•Cubs RH Jake Arrieta (2-1, 2.09 ERA, WHIP: 1.256) - Arrieta was brilliant his last time out, allowing only two hits over seven scoreless frames in a win at Philadelphia and matching his career high with nine strikeouts. The 28-year-old has tossed 13 shutout innings over his last two starts and has permitted one or zero runs in six of his eight outings this season. Arrieta is facing the Marlins for only the second time and looking for his first decision against them.
•Marlins RH Nathan Eovaldi (4-2, 3.71 ERA, WHIP: 1.214) - Eovaldi has won his last two decisions, but the Marlins have lost the last three games he has started despite the 24-year-old turning in quality starts in two of them. One of those outings was against the Cubs, whom he limited to three runs over 7 2/3 innings while compiling eight strikeouts in a no-decision. He was not sharp last time out, allowing six runs and 10 hits — both matching season-highs — in 4 2/3 innings against Pittsburgh.

•Mets RH Bartolo Colon (6-5, 4.15 ERA, WHIP: 1.264) - Colon is 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA in his last five starts after yielding two runs on four hits in 7 1/3 innings in a 6-2 win over San Diego on Friday. The 41-year-old Dominican improved to 3-0 in his career against St. Louis following a scintillating performance on April 24. Colon permitted one run on four hits and struck out eight without walking a batter in seven innings en route to a 4-1 triumph.

The former Baltimore Oriole allowed a run on seven hits and did not issue a walk for the second straight outing while matching a career high by logging eight innings. Simon permitted two runs over 6 2/3 innings in a win at Pittsburgh on April 23, improving to 2-3 with a 2.57 ERA in 15 career appearances (one start) against the Pirates.

•Pirates RH Edinson Volquez (4-5, 3.89 ERA, WHIP: 1.182) - Collecting his third win in four decisions, Volquez registered his finest outing in his first season with Pittsburgh, holding the Chicago Cubs to seven hits over seven frames in a 4-0 victory. The outing marked the second time in nine tries the 2008 All-Star, who pitched for Cincinnati from 2008-11, was able to last more than six innings. Volquez has faced his former team four times – going 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA – and took the loss in his most recent meeting against the Reds on April 22, yielding two runs over seven innings.

The 30-year-old has yielded fewer than three runs once in his last nine outings and only three times in 14 turns this season. Garza improved to 4-1 in five career starts against Arizona on May 5, when he gave up three runs over six frames.
•Diamondbacks LH Wade Miley (3-6, 4.71 ERA, WHIP: 1.292) - Miley is looking to snap his six-start winless streak after having this start pushed back a day. The 27-year-old is 0-3 since defeating the Chicago White Sox on May 10 for his only victory in his last 12 outings. Miley, who is 1-5 in eight turns at home this season, owns a 3-1 record in four career starts against the Brewers despite posting a 5.70 ERA.

•Rockies LH Jorge De La Rosa (6-5, 4.12 ERA, WHIP: 1.265) - De La Rosa left after three innings of Colorado's 7-4 victory at San Francisco on Friday, but was relieved after being worked on by the trainers."It felt like something was definitely really bad, but I came in (to the training room) and had some treatment, then I was better," the 33-year-old Mexican told reporters Saturday. De La Rosa is 3-9 with a 5.74 ERA in 18 games against Los Angeles, but 3-1 in his last four turns against the Dodgers, the loss coming against Kershaw on June 8.

Kershaw is 11-5 with a 3.54 ERA in 24 starts against Colorado - 5-2, 1.58 in 11 turns at Dodger Stadium - after striking out nine in five innings of a rain-shortened 6-1 victory at Coors Field on June 8.
