This is the first home game for Detroit after great away performances in their last 4 games. In today's game they will play against a very strong Cleveland team that knows exactly how to control the pace of a game, normally dominating the rebound stats in all their games. The games between these two normally end up in very close clashes and today we expect more of the same. Both teams will concentrate their defense on the two players mentioned before. If they can do it there is only one possible outcome in this game: the Under.

Toronto @ Miami
Comparing to last season's results, we are seeing a much stronger Miami squad and they are definitely a team to follow in the present season. While the Heat are a 5 players team, Toronto pretty much rely on two single players: Chris Bosh, who scored 40 (!!!) points yesterday and also Jermaine O'Neil. Yesterday we saw both teams performing and while Miami beat Washington, at Washington, in a very mature way, Toronto lost in Toronto by 13 points gap. Today we expect Miami defense to be a major obstacle for Toronto offense, not letting them throw as they like to do it. At home, Miami is very strong and today we expect them to cover the spread.
Recommendation: 3* Miami -3 @ -110
Niagara @ Villanova (NCAAB)
Great start of the season for both teams, counting all their games as Victorious ones. Average shooting percentages for both of them with a slight advantage for Villanova. In today's clash we expect the home ground to be a great advantage for Villanova and we see them beating the handicap of 16. This game features two teams that are in the rebuilding process. However, there is a huge difference in the talent level of players that will be facing each other. Butler is coming off of a huge 30-4 season that saw them advance to the second round of the NCAA tournament, and lose a very strong upper class to graduation. Surprisingly, Butler has no seniors in their starting lineup this year! Ball State is in a similar situation. They are in the process of rebuilding a team that went 6-24 last season. They have 7 new starters on their roster, to go along with 4 returning scholarship players! That's a huge problem, especially when you're facing a Butler team that is used to winning. Don't think that Butler will have a down season, just because they have a team with no Seniors. They have plenty of talent to go around and should have no problem with this line, against a Ball St. team that is rebuilding from a losing season. Butler has won 4 of their last 5 home games against Ball St. by double digits, and with Matt Howard and Shelvin Mack leading the way will make it 5 of 6 double digit wins after tonight.

Ball State is well aware that this will be one of those games that their entire season will be judged upon...And playing on the road will allow them to get even more respect for a huge win in front of a National TV Audience...More importantly, I see no reason at all that this team will not be able to rise to the occassion and get the win, as well as extract a lot of revenge for losing to CMU last year...What we can't forget is that in that game, Ball St went in as a Double-Digit Fav that just didn't come to play...So we should see a 100% effort from them tonight, as well as total focus on the task at hand...Bottom line here is this...Although we may come back and make a Straight Bet on them as well Tonight, I just can't pass up the opportunity to get them at what is ultimately a "PICK" against a team they can really dominate...And after speaking to some of the sources we have who are Books, I see us on their side with this play because the biggest liability they have so far on this ESPN Match-Up...is on CMU "ML"...which is getting most of the work...

CMU has won back to back MAC Titles and a win tonight would land them in the title game again. This obviously will be their toughest test of the season, but they have won 18 of their last 20 MAC games and at home are getting no love with the oddsmakers. This CMU senior class is deep and this is a statement game for them as all the focus is on the 14th ranked Ball State team. Lets face it. Ball State probably couldn't beat most teams in the SEC or Big 12 and obviously are not the 14th best team in the nation. The weather will be a factor tonight as it should be cold and snowy.
