You guys love to shit on Dr. Bob, and it's really a shame. Sure, he doesn't hit 75% every week, like the 'touts' out here claim. But the man is a legitimate handicapper who is absolutely transparent with regard to his historical performance. The man has never come out with a "game of the year, game or the month, or wipe out winner of the century." All he does is make picks and post his record.

Basketball Best Bets (all records in star-basis)
2007-08 = 460-428-22 for -10.8 Stars
2006-07 = 450-415-11 for -6.5 Stars
2005-06 = 574-420-16 for +112.0 Stars
2004-05 = 562-519-25 for – 8.9 Stars
2003-04 = 664-483-39 for +132.7 Stars
2002-03 = 588-585-27 for -55.5 Stars
2001-02 = 539-396-19 for +103.4 Stars
2000-01 = 549-473-21 for +28.7 Stars
1999-00 = 532-428-26 for +61.2 Stars
1998-99 = 410-297-20 for +83.3 Stars (NBA Strike season)
Total = 5328-4444-226 (55%) for +439.6 Stars

I'd rather invest in a handicapper who is, on average, +43.96 stars PER YEAR, OVER TEN YEARS RUNNING, over any of these douchebags you all claim to be the GOD of sports handicapping.

I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone. However, in this business, numbers speak LOUDER than words...

so that says it all....

Exactley.. Two-three weeks ago he was talking about how Florida was the best. John Parker Wilson can't handle this defense.

Biggest thing is, Florida will score. If Bama gets behind something like 14-0, game over. I expect a similar result as OK v OKST.

thing gators have to be careful of is the kicking game...FSU started almost every drive between the 45's...if Bama gets field position like FSU did I see under 10 point spread on the final score...fwiw

No, I don't. As far as I have been following this year( and I have followed him in years past), he has done poorly in basketball and NFL. But he is, and has been been for me, very profitable in College Football. The point I am trying to make is that this guy is a legitimate handicapper. FYI, he excels as the season progresses.

Great post. I've said the same thing many times before. I think too many people get caught up in who is "hot" and just blindly follow them without doing any research at all. Even the worst cappers in the world can have a nice run, so putting your hard earned money on the line based on their advice is pretty foolish IMO. Like you said, following guys who have proven track records will prove to be a lot more profitable in the long run than following a crappy tout who just happens to catch a lucky streak.

I've followed Dr. Bob for a few years and agree with everything you said. It's nice to see a guy who doesn't resort to cheesy marketing gimmicks to sell his plays. It's also nice to see that he not only keeps a running total of his record, he also does a wrap-up at the end of the season that shows every single play he released, along with the write-ups.

RAS is another handicapper who is transparent with his record. He started in 1997 and has the results of every game he has posted over those 11 years on his Web site. Two honest cappers in an industry full of charlatans...

So your saying if dr. bob is opposite a big kelso play, you take dr. bob? This is my first year to the forum and service plays. I admit I got caught up in the hype and made a lot of money and then lost it (been playing with the houses money since Aug). But, theoretically, you'd have to take his plays every single day for the amount he said. You could never stray from a play. There is no way anyone on this forum has played just one capper all season. That wouldn't make sense. If you are here, you play different people. So long term success doesn't mean anything to typical gamblers because typical gamblers are all the same: you live for the gamble.

If you seriously play all of someones plays and stick to it, your more insane then someone taking a Patron pick or Kelso pick blindly.

Plus, the data posted is not stellar by any means. Shit, the guy has had a losing NBA season the last 4 of 6. I can handle losing a grand on a eddie roman "pick of my life" easier then I would playing every single play exactley how dr. bob says and losing money at the end of the season. After all that hard work and discipline.. not being able to take a shot once in a while because "i'm sticking to dr. bobs system"... that would kill me seeing others making arab money and me missing out.

ICEMAN "Upset Alert"

Handicapper: Tony Karpinski
Dallas Stars vs. Calgary Flames (NHL) - 9:35 PM EST Premium Play
Pick: Money Line: 158 Dallas Stars Play Title: 4*
No Analysis

Who is Tony K, is that Icemans other name?

Thanks for the pick. Dallas got the early lead, played their usual game by playing great D and holding onto a lead. Turco was amazing and seems to be getting into a grove. The Stars will get hot here shortly

Is everyone thinking Kelso 100 star will be on Florida this saturday
I think it is ... I liked Florida before the line came out (-10 ???) now I'm not so sure. I guess Vegas knows more than the BCS, AKA Bull Crap Standings

Don't know if you guys were referring to my post as the post that you thought was "ragging on Dr. Bob"? I just simply stated I lost big tonight due to him going 1-3. I agree that he is one of the most transparent touts in the business, but I most certainly agree with the post above of bigdaveyt as well. I think what I'm going to do is only play his 3 and 4 star plays until his capping gets stronger once he has more numbers to put into his system. For some reason basketball's been hard on him in recent years. I'm big on his college football anyways, and he's been treating me fairly well on that. Until his basketball gets up to par, I'm looking hard at Jefferson Sports, Seabass and Kelso. Taking Purdue tonight was just fucking stupid. Sometimes he doesn't take common sense into the equation, and I hate that.

99.9 percent that Kelso's 100-unit play is Florida. It's on the SEC championship game, and he always lays chalk on 100+ unit games.

WOW, you couldn't be more off. 4 out of 6 losing seasons, yes. Minus in Stars during that time, no. As a matter of fact, he is +163 Stars in that span. And, if you include the year before that, you can add another 103.4 Stars. Winner...

What do you mean by that JBLONGHORN? Last two years, he only down 17.3 units.

Look at long run in choosing which handicappers you decide to invest your money with.
