The Denver Nuggets leave the mile high city to face the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday evening.
Denver is 29-15 SU and 25-18 ATS this season and on the highway the Nuggets are 11-9 SU and ATS averaging 102.2 points per game and allowing 101.2 points per game. Denver is coming off a home win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday with a final score of 117 to 97. They are in a sandwich situation as far as their scheduling is concerned having to leave Memphis after tonight’s game with the Grizzlies to face the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday in the Big Easy.

The Memphis Grizzlies have not taken the floor since a loss to the New Jersey Nets on Saturday losing that game by a final score of 99 to 89 as a 1.5 point home underdog. The key for the Grizzlies tonight is they catch the Nuggets in a look-ahead situation and we also see that the Nuggets struggle in the situations listed here as well. Denver is 49-76 ATS in road games when playing 6 or less games in 14 days since 1996, 13-29 ATS after 2 or more consecutive ‘unders’ the last 3 seasons, 11-25 ATS after scoring 55 points or more in the first half in 2 straight games the last 2 seasons, 46-77 ATS in road games after successfully covering the spread in 2 or more consecutive games since 1996and 44-68 ATS in road games after 2 or more consecutive wins since 1996.

Data base research has uncovered two NBA Systems that are active for tonight’s contest. Play On NBA underdogs after failing to cover the spread in 12 or more of the last 15 against opponent after having covered 3 of their last 4 against the spread, 44-17ATS since 1996. Play On NBA home teams revenging a road loss versus an opponent of 10 points or more, playing with 2 days rest, 138-90 ATS the last five seasons.

Memphis is also active in two of our statistical indicators that have records of 21-5 ATS and 52-23-1 ATS.

The combination of technical and situational support for the Grizzlies makes them our NBA Underdog GOW Selection. So take the points with the host as they keep this game close and cash the ATS ticket on Tuesday night.

PROJECTED FINAL SCORE: (5*) Memphis Grizzlies 98 Denver Nuggets 101

San Antonio Spurs vs. Utah Jazz (NBA) - 9:05 PM EST Premium Play
Pick: Point Spread: -1/-103 Utah Jazz Play Title: Cajun Sports NBA 4-Star Super Situation Winner 30-7 ATS
Click Here to View Pick Analysis
The Delta Center will be the site of tonight’s clash between the host Utah Jazz and the visiting San Antonio Spurs. The last meeting between these two was played back in November in Texas and the Spurs put a beat-down on the Jazz 119 to 94.
The Spurs are coming off a loss at the Lakers on Sunday, 99 to 85 as a 7.5 point road underdog. The Spurs have been struggling against the spread of late winning only two out of their last eight against the number. The Jazz are also struggling against the spread winning only one of their last seven, their last game was a loss to Denver on Sunday as an eight point road underdog, 117 to 97.

The Jazz have been solid as home favorites in the past posting a record of 50-24 ATS. If the Jazz are installed as a home favorite of less than five points they are 19-7 against the spread. The Jazz are 11-0-1 ATS when facing a team that covered the spread in their previous same season meeting. Utah is 41-25 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record over the last 2 seasons. Utah has been successful when facing opponents from the Southwest Division going 20-7-1 against the spread in those games. The Spurs have struggled when facing teams with a winning record this season posting a record of 2-6 ATS and 6-16 ATS as a road underdog of five or less points their last 22 in that point range.

The Jazz are active in four of our statistical indictors that have records of 57-41-1 ATS, 247-180-5 ATS, 89-65-2 ATS and 227-175-5 ATS.

With solid technical and situational support we will back the host here as the Jazz avenge their earlier blowout loss to this Spurs team. Lay the short price with Utah as they cash the winning ticket on Tuesday night in the Delta Center.

Today's Picks
National Hockey League picks for JAN 27 2009 :
Toronto +1.93 over MINNESOTA (REG) PINNACLE

The Leafs without Toskala or CuJo between the pipes is a big upgrade and that’s precisely what we have here, as Justin Pogge makes his second start of the year. In his only other start against the Thrashers in Atlanta, the Leafs won 6-2. That might not mean much but it can only help the Leafs, as soft goals demoralize a team, especially when there are so many of them. Also note that (D) Mike Van Ryn returns to the Leafs line-up and that also helps, as he was the Leafs best defenseman before he got hurt. The Leafs have been better on the road all year and they were also stepping it up before the break, as they had picked up points in three of its last four games. Toronto is much better than their record indicates and the only reason for a poor record is brutal goaltending all year, end of story. The Wild are an offensively challenged group and that makes laying big juice with them an unnecessary huge risk. This team plays a solid defensive system but they should not be favored by this much over anyone because they’re just not that much better than anyone. Definite overlay, as the players will play hard coming off the break and in support of Pogge. Play: Toronto +1.93 (Risking 2 units).

RANGERS -½ +1.11 over Carolina (REG) PINNACLE

The Canes won two in a row before the break, however, they managed to score just two goals in both games and that came against the Leafs and Penguins. They’ll be hard-pressed to match that against the Rangers because they cannot score to begin with and the Rangers seldom give up anything. Stephen Valiquette gets a rare start for the Rangers but there’s no need to worry because in 10 starts this year, Valiquette has a better save percentage and GAA then Henrik Lundqvist. The Rangers have won four of five and over that stretch they allowed a measly 11 goals against. For the umpteenth time and with no disrespect to the Islanders, I’m suggesting that the Canes offer up very little, as I’m convinced that this is the least talented team in the business and by season’s end they’ll be looking up at a lot of teams and watching the playoffs from the rail. The real season begins now and the real Canes are going to be exposed a lot more then they were before the break. Play: NY Rangers -½ +1.11 (Risking 2 units).

TAMPA BAY +1.40 over Montreal (REG) PINNACLE

Very decent price on the home side here, as the Lightning are playing so good right now. In fact, the Bolts have won three of four and have gone 9-5-1 over its last 15 games. They’ve also scored 16 times over its last four and they also get tremendous goaltending from Mike Smith. This is a team that has turned it around big time and they could easily catch the Habs a little gassed as the East All-Star team was well-stocked with Canadiens players. All that media attention and pressure to perform well could definitely have a negative effect on the Habs for this one. Montreal dropped two in a row before the break to New Jersey and Atlanta and was outscored 9-4 in those two games. Bottom line here is value and we get plenty of it in this one. Regardless of the outcome, this is a bad line in our favor. Play: Tampa Bay +1.40 (Risking 2 units).

Atlanta +1.80 over DALLAS PINNACLE

The Stars could turn out to be a dangerous team in the second half but in no way do they warrant this ludicrous price over the Thrashers. Hell, right now the Thrashers are the much more dangerous squad, as they won three of four before the break with its only loss coming in Philadelphia. In that game the Thrashers trailed 3-0 before tying it up 3-3, only to lose it with about five minutes to go. Furthermore, they’re scoring a ton of goals these days and in fact, have scored 31 times over its last seven games. Meanwhile, Dallas continues to struggle and every time they win they usually follow it up with a loss. Marty Turco has been shaky as hell all season and bad goaltending is just so difficult to compensate for. Yes, the Stars could win this game for sure, as they’ve been known to go on some pretty torrid second half runs, however, the Thrashers, too, have a damn good chance for a win and the take-back seals the deal. Play: Atlanta +1.80 (Risking 2 units).

EDMONTON -½ +1.35 over Buffalo PINNACLE

After underachieving for the better part of the first half, the Oilers have really showed some life recently and could be one of the more dangerous teams down the stretch. The Oilers went into the break on a three-game win streak and scored 13 goals over that stretch. They’ve also won five of six including a 5-2 win over Washington and a 6-3 win over Phoenix. The Sabres will stay on the road after playing its last two away from home making this their sixth road game in its last seven starts. They’ll also be without three regular D-Men, as Henrik Tallinder, Teppo Numminen and Andrej Sekera are all on the rack, as is Maxim Afinogenov. The Sabres look to be in a very tough spot here, as the Oilers are amped up right now and a letdown here seems unlikely. Play: Edmonton -½ +1.35 (Risking 2 units).

Fan Appreciation Play

Mississippi vs Kentucky
Play: Mississippi. +8

The Rebels return home off 3 straight losses when they host the Wildcats in SEC play knowing they are an eye-popping 31-3 SU at home against .800 or less opposition the last three seasons, including 19-0 when Ole Miss owns a win percentage of less than .700 on the season. With Kentucky looking dead ahead to a bigger game up next with Florida and standing just 1-6 ATS in games after facing Alabama the last 5 seasons, we'll grab the points with the Rebels here tonight

NBA Blowout Special

Indiana at Orlando
Play: Orlando -9

The Pacers are at their best when they are allowed to get out and run the court, but some teams just won't let them accomplish that goal. Orlando is one of the best defensive teams in the league for a reason and they have held Indiana to 98 and 96 points in their first two meetings, the former going into overtime. Indiana has a much easier matchup tomorrow at home against the injured Milwaukee Bucks, so if the Pacers fall behind early they may just pack it in to save energy. Just last week the Magic were sitting with the best record in the league and the team was getting accolades from all over the country. Now after back to back non-competitive losses to the Celtics and Heat some are questioning the team's desire. But now with two full days to put the losses behind them we expect a motivated Orlando squad tonight. Dwight Howard said the team "didn't have the defensive focus we needed." This after Miami set a franchise record of turning the ball over just four times on Saturday. The Magic played the Pacers twice already this season winning the first game in Indiana in overtime 100-98. The second time they met Orlando led wire to wire in a 110-96 victory. We expect more of the same tonight from a rested team who has cashed 8 of 11 in the role of home favorite. PLAY ORLANDO
