It’s a Hot Night in the NBA with the Heat and Suns
Posted on March 4, 2010 by ThisProGambler
Because this STREAK is so ridiculous, I went back and counted everything by hand (very anal) from the beginning of the Blog. Here are the cold hard facts:
- I’ve Post bets on 29 different days
- My record is 53-18 (75%)
- I had 2 days with a losing record
- I had 6 days where I split
- I had a winning record on 21 Days
- 13 of those 21 Days I was perfect
How much money you made depends, of course, on how you bet. I made all straight wagers for the same amount of money – that
resulted in a 42.5% Profit! I hope you don’t lynch me when the numbers start coming back to the norm. You can expect me to stay above 60% long term, but I can’t promise 75%!
Take the Miami Heat +5.5 at Home vs. Los Angeles Lakers. The
Los Angeles Lakers finished a 3-0 home stand and now head for what Phil Jackson describes as a period that will determine how goes the season. Why? LA is going to pay for all those early season home games by playing
11 of their next 14 games on the road, beginning with a 3 game Road Trip that starts in Miami. The
Miami Heat is also at a crossroads of sorts. They are sitting in the 8th spot in the East, but it’s really a game of musical chairs between
Toronto, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Charlotte. One of them won’t find a seat when the music stops. The Heat went on a 4 game losing streak while superstar
Dewaye Wade was hurt (the last loss was his first game back), and they almost didn’t take care of business on Sunday against the
Golden State Warriors, who barely have enough healthy players to complete a game. The Heat (Dewayne Wade in particular) seems to have been looking to this TNT nationally televised game against
Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Since Wade’s arrival, the Heat have played the Lakers tough and close; other numbers have been meaningless. In their last ten games the average scores for both teams have differed by 1 point. In the only game they played this year, the Lakers won in LA 108-107 as a 12 1/2 point favorite. With the exception of Ron Artest, the Lakers continue to struggle with intensity and focus. Wade won’t lack either tonight.
Take the Heat +5.5.
Take the Phoenix Suns -1.5 at Home vs. the Utah Jazz. I believe in streaks and often play them until they’re out. The
Utah Jazz were the hottest team in the NBA through a
15-2 stretch in February. Then, they went 1-2 with losses to the
Kings and the
Clippers. But, nothing has slowed down the
Phoenix Suns. The Suns went
12-3 since February 1, losing only to playoff contending teams
Dallas, San Antionio, and Portland (OK, Spurs and Tblazers are not the cream right now, but they are momentarily playoff bound). The Suns are going back to back, where they’ve been 5-8, but they’ve won their last two, and they’ve won both ends of Road-Home back to backs – they won the front end of the third last night at the Staples Center. To help out, the Suns got to pull back last night and give the starters some relief as they blew out the Clippers. At the beginning of the Utah winning streak they beat the Suns in Salt Lake City 124-115. I see both teams at a different place right now.
Take the Suns -1.5.
Other NBA Items of Interest. The
Total on the Lakers/Heat game is 189. In their
last game, they scored 215 Points. Somebody knows something, but it’s not me, so I’m just going to leave it alone.
The line for the
Grizzlies/Bulls game is sitting at 4.5 Points. The
Grizzlies have been pretty bad on back to backs this year (they’ve lost the second of all 4 Road-Road back to backs). Since beating the Lakers February 1,
the Grizzlies have only beat 1 playoff team (Toronto in Overtime). I was looking to play the
Bulls in this game even though they’re still dinged up and have lost 2 in a row. But, I can’t confirm the status of
Luol Deng and I don’t want to play this game unless Deng, even less than 100%, is on the floor. So, I’m going to watch this up to game time.
