PERFECT PLAY
Vanderbilt (+1½) over Texas A&M
6:00 PM (EST) -- Memorial Gym
Perfect Play---Vanderbilt Texas A&M is getting all the headlines coming out of the SEC. They have a #8 national ranking because of their 18-3 record. Like many ranked teams, they are a tad above average playing on the road. They are 5-2 straight up but have not had to play on the most difficult home court in that of Vanderbilt. It''''s like playing on a raised stage. It throws off you shooting perception. It''''s a very different type venue unlike what any team has had to play. The A&M Aggies have shot 39.2 percent overall this season and just 27% on 3-pointers. They''''re shooting woes on the road should continue as they are hitting 40.6 percent on the road compared to 47% in other games. This venue tonight will be their Achilles heel for any number of reasons. But mostly, Vanderbilt leads the entire Division I in 3-point percentage defense at 27.5 and has held opponents to 38% on field goals, tops in the SEC. The Commodores have the talent and the ability to knock A&M off. They were ranked #18 earlier and dropped out. Their climb back begins tonight on a court made for a huge home team advantage.
