Analysis:This is all about the two best 5th year seniors on the same team that have come too far not to continue their run. Malcolm Brogdon & Anthony Gill for Virginia are those two players. It won't be ea “sy after Syracuse stayed in the game early with Gonzaga and battled back from 10 points down in the first half and figured how to keep the ball away from Wiltjer & Sabonis in the second half of the Orange victory on Friday night.
The two teams played earlier this season and Virginia won in Charlottesville by eight points. Somewhere in the 40 minutes of regulation the Cavaliers should shut down Syracuse for a 4-6 minute stint. That's the type of stifling defense they play. Meanwhile another senior Mike Tobey, comes off a career high 18 points in the 13 point win ( 84-71 ) over Iowa State. UVA isn't flashy but they work the ball around so well and create turnovers and a lot of one and done trips for their opponents. Cavs must keep wraps on Gbinije & Cooney from the outside to cover the big number. UVA needs to get out to a nice lead and the experience they have from playing the Cuse earlier in the season should help them exploiting the Zone. Not for the faint of heart to watch but I see UVA expanding the lead down the stretch for a win and a cover!
