Miami @ Atlanta 1:00 PM ET
Play On: Atlanta –5.0

For a series that is entering a Game 7 there is yet to be a close game played. As a matter of fact there has only been 7 lead changes in the entire series. Keeping that all in mind the home team with more experience in this highly pressurized situation has the advantage. This is the same core group of players for the Hawks that went 7 games with the eventual World Champion Boston Celtics in the 1st Round of the 2008 playoffs. That experience in itself will pay huge dividends in this contest. Granted the Heat have both Dwayne Wade and Udonis Haslem that won a championship with heat back in 2006. However they lack any consistent production from their bench and rely on some 1st and 2nd year players to play key roles. The Heat has gone 0-5 SU&ATS this season as an away underdog of 9.5 or less when coming off of a SU win. Contrarily the Hawks have gone 6-0 SU&ATS this season in their last 6 games as a home favorite of 2.0 or more when coming off of a SU loss. The Hawks will pull away in the 2nd half and make the trend of the series complete by winning in a decisive manner. Play on the Atlanta Hawks minus the points as a 5000 Dime selection.

Stu's 1000 Dime NBA Winner
Dallas @ Denver 3:30 PM ET
Play On: Dallas +5.5

The Nuggets are being touted by many of the experts as being the main challenger the Lakers in the Western Conference Playoffs. However this is a Dallas team that being vastly overlooked. The Mavericks played terrific basketball down the stretch of the regular season and handled the San Antonio Spurs in relative ease in the 1st Round. I am not taking anything away from the Nuggets or their chances but my job is to beat the number in this one game today. Having said that I look for the Mavericks to come out and make a statement in the opening game versus a Denver team that figures to be a little bit on the flat side early on. I would not be shocked if we got the outright upset here but we will take the points as an additional bonus. Play on the Dallas Mavericks plus the points as a 1000 Dime selection.

Stu's 100 Dime MLB Winner #1
Baltimore (Guthrie) @ Toronto (Richmond) 1:05
Play On: Toronto –130

The Toronto starter Richmond enters the game in terrific form off of his last 3 starts posting a 1.86 ERA while going 3-0 in the process. The Blue jays have dominated the Orioles in recent times going 13-3 in the last 6 meetings and 8-1 in the last 9 at home. I usually don’t pay any mind to days of the week trends but this one can’t be ignored. The Orioles are 11-40 in their last 51 games on Sundays. The Baltimore starter Guthrie enters the game in terrible form off of his last 3 starts posting a 1.91 WHIP and a 7.47 ERA. The Jays have been a profitable 29-11 in their last 40 games as a favorite. Play on the Toronto Blue Jays as a 100 Dime selection.

Stu's 100 Dime MLB Winner #2

St. Louis (Lohse) @ Washington (Lannan) 1:35 PM ET
Play On: Under 9.0

The Washington starter Lannan has been excellent in his last 3 starts posting a 1.96 ERA with all 3 going under the total. The Nationals have ony gone over the total 2 times in their last 12 games. The Cardinals are hitting a dismal .207 as a team versus left-handed pitching on the road. The Cardinals have only gone over the total 8 times in their last 30 games versus a left-handed starting pitcher. The last 23 games played between these two clubs at Washington has seen just 8 go over the total. The Cardinals starter Lohse enters the game in stellar form posting a 2.81 ERA over his last 3 starts. Play on under the total as a 100 Dime Selection.

Does anyone know why some days there are 3 Bonus Plays, but others only one. He usually only releases one on his website, so I'm wondering where the other two come from. Thanks!

Trace Adams
Trace Adams 1500* - Denver Nuggets, 500* - NY Mets w/Maine over Blanton Small chance the Nuggets could be resting on their laurels after their 1st playoff series win since the mid-1990's, but the same case can be made for the Mavericks, as they exorcised some demons in their series win over the Spurs in the first round.

That having been said, I am loading up on Denver in Game 1 of this semifinal series, as the Nuggets have thoroughly dominated the Mavs of late, winning 5 straight, while covering in 4 of those 5.

The Nuggets are also on a 7-1 straight up, and against the spread roll the last 8 series meetings, and with New Orleans unable to come close in any of the 3 games played at the Pepsi Center in the last round, I highly doubt the Mavericks are staying close come the final buzzer in this game.

Dallas did get blown out at San Antonio in Game 2 of their last series, and are just 20-24 straight up this year on the road.

I am laying the points with the home-lovin' Nuggets.

1500♦ - Denver Nuggets

The Mets and Phillies have split the first 2 games of their weekend set, and both in high-scoring fashion.

Could be some more runs scored today at the Bank, and for my money, I will back John Maine over Joe Blanton.

Maine at least showed signs of life his last time out, picking up the win over Florida by throwing 6 scoreless.

Blanton has been rocked in all 3 of his starts, allowing 12 runs in just 16 innings of work.

Maine is also 2-0 his last 5 starts against the Phillies.

I am on the Mets to win this Sunday matinee.

500♦ - NY Mets w/Maine over Blanton

♦♦Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or no action on the play!♦♦

At 2:20pm our member selection is on the Florida Marlins and Chicago Cubs 'under' the total. Marlins ace Ricky Nolasco is glad that April is over and May is here so he can start anew. Nolasco had a month that he would rather forget in April, going 1-2 with a 6.92 ERA in five starts since being annointed this season as the opening day starter. Not only will Nolasco be looking at his sixth start as a chance to right himself with the beginning of a new month, but it is against the team through whose system he first came up with (Nolasco was traded from the Cubs minor league system to Florida in the Juan Pierre deal in 2005). It's been almost three years, but perhaps a start against Chicago is just what Nolasco needs as in his only other start against them (in May 2006), Nolasco threw seven strong innings, surrendering only one earned run. Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano has had back-to-back stellar starts with almost identical lines (three earned runs in seven innings) after stumbling badly against the Cardinals three starts back on April 17. Unlike Nolasco, Zambrano has had a very strong April and appears to be getting stronger, and his ERA is only high because of that one bad start against St. Louis. In this game at home, Zambrano will go for career win number 99 against a team that he has performed very well against in the past. Take the 'under'.

GREG SHAKER'S Bonus Play

MLB: Houston Astros at Atlanta Braves - Under 8 (Rodriguez/Reyes) -110
Game Date: 5/3/2009
Note: How do you have a 2-2 record with an ERA of 1.69? You play for the Astros, that's how. They are not hitting the ball well and especially verses lefties on the road this year at just .167. Wandy is likely to give us a nice start and Reyes is likely to have a decent outing as well. The Braves are OK at striking Southpaws but most recently they are not and over the last 10 are well below the .225 mark. Both Pens performing very well right now as well, and especially Atlanta's which has amassed a 1.29 ERA over the last 10 played. It is going to be tough to gather up 9 runs in this game today. Sometimes handicapping a baseball game is just plain common sense. This one makes a lot of that.
