Perfect Play---Ohio St
NCAA Favorite of Month
The Buckeyes defense is still a model unit on that side of the ball. The turnovers have dropped off a bit, but they’ve still forced at least one in seven of their eight games. Against Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong, who has 11 touchdowns to 7 interceptions, Ohio State’s secondary might find some success. Armstrong has a history of gambling, and this defense is opportunistic enough to make him pay. If the Cornhuskers are stopped and have to put, it gets even worse for them. The Huskers are 127th nationally — one spot above dead last — in net punting, while the Buckeyes are fourth. Field position will play a huge part coving as a favorite. Ohio State still has impressive offensive stats, but that’s in part because of their defense. The Buckeyes have a talented enough offense to run up big numbers as the defense holds and gets them great field position. Don't be fooled of their identical 7-1 records. Nebraska has not been tested except last week losing in OT to Wisconsin. Offensively, OSU's quarterback J.T. Barrett is still one of the nation’s most dynamic playmakers at his position and has passed for 1,675 yards and 17 scores so far in 2016. Barrett has an intriguing and promising group of receivers at his disposal but needs to throw deep to prevent the defenses from stacking the line. Watch for that as part of their game plan. Injuries have taken a toll on Nebraska’s offensive line this year. While the Cornhuskers have used only two different combinations, David Knevel and Nick Gates have been banged up throughout the 2016 campaign, and starting right guard Tanner Farmer won’t play on Saturday after suffering an injury against Wisconsin. Look for Huskers QB Tommy Armstrong to continue to struggle. Ohio State’s defense has been stingy all year, limiting opponents to just 15.1 points per game. In addition to the standout group in the trenches, the Buckeyes have one of the nation’s top defensive backfields in place, as this unit has allowed only seven passing scores in 2016. Finally, the Buckeyes don't have any margin for error after the loss to Penn State. If the Buckeyes want to earn a spot in the playoff, every week is a must-win-big the rest of the way and a huge 24 point win will go along way against a 7-1 Nebraska team.

Inner Circle---NC State
ACC Game of Month
Florida St has a matchup with the NC State Wolfpack in a stadium where the ‘Noles do not play historically well at under Jimbo Fisher. NC State just seems to give Florida State fits and this year will be no different. NC State will look to run the ball and control this game. FSU's offensive line will struggle. The Seminole's defense plays well enough to win at times but their offense settles for field goals and has costly turnovers. Florida State played well last week, but ended up losing an extremely close game to Clemson taking the wind out of their sail. On the other hand, NC State played poorly in a loss to a poor Boston College team, and the Pack should be out for blood at home Saturday night. The Seminoles’ defense will be out on the field for too long and wear down over the course of the game, allowing NC State to take advantage. The Pack should also be able to get positive results going against the 'Noles 5th string safety. Defensively, NC State defensive line is more than good enough to rise up and shut down the Nole offense that had a nightmare of a time against the Clemson defensive front last week – QB Deondre Francois almost got killed taking big shot after big shot. Florida State opened this week at a -6.5 favorite but quickly dropped to -6 as many experts do not trust this FSU team. N.C. State has covered 12 of the last 16 meetings with FSU and plays even better when hosting the Seminoles. The Wolfpack are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 home games and picking up a big win on the season will build their resume. The Wolfpack are a tough team at home and expect them to come ready for this one as they got caught looking ahead and loss to Boston College last week.

Pinnacle---LSU
Vegas Insider Game of Year
It is not quite the annual "Game of the Century" that it was in recent years, but it is still LSU and Alabama, and there still is quite a big at stake. But, don't tell that to the LSU fans that will be partying all day and into the night for the 7pm start in Death Valley. They will be in a frenzy by them. The last five games there have totaled exactly 103-103. That's right, throw out the stats, this is a huge rivalry. And two of the games went into overtime. The Tigers (3-1 SEC) fired head coach Les Miles after a 2-2 start, but they are 3-0 under Ed Orgeron, and they are No. 13 in the first CFP rankings. They can tighten the race in the SEC West if they can upset the top-ranked Crimson Tide. The Tigers had difficulties offensively with Miles which led to his undoing. Their defense has always been top 5. They averaged 21 ppg with Miles. Since then, 3-0 and 41 ppg with new head coach Orgeron. Both teams are coming off an open date and should be well rested. That should be especially good news for Tigers All-America running back Leonard Fournette, who is the healthiest he has been all season. He had two weeks to heal after a record-setting performance against Ole Miss in the Tigers' most recent game. Fournette is coming off the most prolific rushing game in LSU history -- a 284-yard performance in a 38-21 win against Ole Miss. (Take that Bama). Alabama has not faced a defense as fast and as good as LSU will put on the field. It is a defense that has allowed only seven touchdowns this year, which leads the nation. Bama QB Jalan Hurts is only completing 63 percent of his throws and averaging 193 yards a game with 11 touchdowns against five interceptions. In this hostile environment, things could get ugly leading to the outright upset. For LSU, an offense that was as flat as a three-day-old Pepsi has come around and is now thriving under a new system. Steve Ensminger has opened up the playbook and let the Tigers play more freely. Quarterback Danny Etling leads the charge, and has been able to awaken wide receiver Malachi Dupre from the dead complimenting the running game. LSU is playing as well as they have in years and this is going to be a battle to the end with the outright win coming in the final quarter for the Tigers of LSU.
