Seattle at Sacramento
Pick: OVER 141

Seattle will head south to take on Sacramento in each team's WNBA opener. The Monarchs were one of the most improved teams over the second half of last season. They opened at a dismal 8-11, but came on strong to finish 10-5 and make the playoffs. The biggest change was at the offensive end. They went from a bottom-third offense in the low 70s, to a team that averaged 82.1 points per game in their final eight at home. In the playoffs, they were the top-scoring team. This total is set way to low for a team that has found a home in the 80s, so I'll back the OVER here.

Play: METS
Comments: The New York Mets will look to beat the Washington Nationals for the 7th time in 8 games tonight at Nationals Park. Mets righthander John Maine (5-3, 3.75 ERA) will go up against Nationals southpaw John Lannnon (2-5, 4.21 ERA) on Saturday. Maine has pitched well as of late, with only 1 earned run allowed in his last 12 innings of work. Maine also beat Washington on May 25th after allowing just 1 run on 4 hits in 6 innings of work during the Mets' 5-2 win. Lannon has pitched stellar at Nationals Park, as he sports a 1-0 record in 5 starts with a 2.25 ERA. Lannon struggled in his last start against the Mets on May 25th, as he gave up 5 runs on 8 hits in 5 innings during Washington's 5-2 loss. All Mets!

Play: CARDINALS
Comments: The St. Louis Cardinals will try to rebound from a late-inning thumping, as they will take on the Colorado Rockies tonight from Busch Stadium. Cardinals righthander Todd Wellemeyer (5-5, 5.05 ERA) will go up against Rockies righthander Aaron Cook (3-3, 4.94 ERA) on Saturday evening. Wellemeyer has struggled at Busch Stadium this season, as he is 2-4 in 7 starts with a 5.35 ERA. Wellemeyer did beat Colorado in his last start against them on April 2nd, 2008. In that game, he allowed just 1 run on 4 hits over 5 innings & struck out six during St. Louis' 8-3 win. Cook has struggled away from Coors Field, as he is 1-2 in 6 starts with a 5.81 ERA. St. Louis is the only National League team that Cook hasn't beaten yet, as he is 0-4 in 6 starts against them with a 6.63 ERA. All Cardinals!
