We are looking at a "HUGE OVERLAY" in this fight in the Light Weight Division...based on the fact Lidell has become the most recognized name in MMA...And except for the hard core fight fans, who followed PRIDE in Japan...the average fan is going to order this fight expecting to see a Lidell KO...
Unfortunately for them...they are about 18+ months too late because we have definitely seen the best Chuck has to offer already...In fact, it was in his fight against Rampage Jackson (who RUA Beat in Pride) that his age really began showing...
He is now 39, and comes in off what he claims is the 1st KO of his career...Which is never a good thing for a fighter because their confidence is never the same...and we've seem so many who have NEVER recovered from it...
Rua had gotten by on raw talent for so long...but for the first time in his career, he finally has the right team around him to train with...and none of the distractions he's had in the past...More importantly, he is young and this is his time to reign in the UFC...
His stand-up will be more than enough to deal with Lidell's...and his ground game is 2nd to none..Coming off lack-luster performances is what really adds Value to this wager...
Being here in Vegas, and getting a chance to speak with guys who are in the "mix" when it comes to the UFC...all say that RUA's confidence is really high...and Lidell who has even added new trainers to his team, isn't his boastful self...
When older fighters begin looking for new trainers to learn new techniques this late in their careers...the results are usually never good...example, Oscar de la Hoya !!
