Where the action is: Tuesday's bowl line moves
Tuesday's bowl action features four games on the board as college football's bowl season continues.
We talk to Mike Perry, an oddsmaker with Sportsbook.ag, about the action coming in on Tuesday's matchups.
Arizona Wildcats vs. Boston College Eagles - Open: +7
It's been a banner season for BC running back Andre Williams. He captured the Doak Walker award and finished fourth in Heisman voting and capping off the season with a bowl victory would be the cherry on top.
Arizona opened as touchdown favorites, but have dropped three of their last four games heading into this bowl matchup.
"Oddsmakers set the perfect line on this as it opened Arizona -7 and still remains at that number," Perry tells Covers. "BC stud-running back Andre Williams is listed as probable, but you know he will start in his last game as a collegiate. Almost split down middle on the game as 51 percent of money is backing 'Zona."
Virginia Tech Hokies vs. UCLA Bruins - Open: -7, Move: -7.5
The Hokies jumped out to a 6-1 SU record on the season, but have dropped three of five heading into the Hyundai Sun Bowl.
The Bruins will be led by star-quarterback Brett Hundley who was great under center this season, but also led the team in rushing. The Bruins finished the season strongly, winning four of their last five SU and three of their last four ATS.
"A few days after opening, got sharp play on the Bruins -7, so moved to current number of -7.5," said Perry. "Virginia Tech has covered just one of their last five games, and 73 percent of cash is fading the Hokies in this matchup."
Rice Owls vs. Mississippi State Bulldogs - Open: -8, Move: -7
The Owls will try to continue their successful season with a victory in the Liberty Bowl. They picked up their first outright conference title since 1957 with a victory in the Conference-USA championship game.
The Bulldogs struggled to a 6-6 record and all six losses were to ranked teams. Quarterback Dak Prescott will be back in the huddle for Mississippi State. He led the team in passing (1,657 yards) and rushing (751).
"Got sharp bet on Rice +8, just a couple hours after we released line, so moved to +7.5," says Perry. "Then on the very next day, another sharp played the Owls, so moved to present number of +7. Fifty-five percent of cash on Mississippi State."
Duke Blue Devils vs. Texas A&M Aggies - Open: -14, Move: -13
This will more than likely mark the last game in Johnny Manziel's Aggies' career, though he said if he learns that he won't be a first-round selection, he will return to A&M.
Duke reeled off an impressive eight-game winning streak before being thumped by Florida State 45-7. The Blue Devils did win the ACC's Coastal Division title, which was their first championship of any kind since sharing the ACC title with Virginia in 1989.
"We got a small sharp play on Duke +14 (buying a half-point), so we moved Texas A&M to -13 where it still sits," Perry says. "Many people are going to miss seeing Johnny Manziel work his magic in an Aggie uniform. Many are also going to bet on Texas A&M, as they are getting 75 percent of cash versus the Blue Devils."
