INFORMATION WORTH BETTING ON EACH DAY
_______________________________________

#901 CHICAGO CUBS @ #902 CINCINNATI - 7:10
•Cubs RH Jeff Samardzija (0-2, 1.53 ERA, WHIP: 1.104) - Samardzija's luck has been far worse than tough -- he has gone at least seven innings and allowed two or fewer earned runs in all five of his starts but still doesn't have a win. He went 7 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on seven hits last time out against Arizona, but the Cubs blew a three-run lead in the ninth to cost him the win. Samardzija is 1-4 with a 4.52 ERA in 22 games (eight starts) against the Reds.

--KEY STAT: SAMARDZIJA is 7-19 (-12.2 Units) against the money line versus an National League team with an on base percentage .325 or worse over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was SAMARDZIJA 3.3, OPPONENT 5.0.

--SAMARDZIJA is 12-1 against the run line (+11.4 Units) when playing on Monday over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was SAMARDZIJA 3.7, OPPONENT 1.6.

•Reds RH Alfredo Simon (3-1, 1.30 ERA, WHIP: 0.940) - Simon was in the news for the wrong reasons this week when a woman who alleges Simon raped her filed a civil suit against him. That cloud darkens a great start to the season for the 32-year-old Dominican, who has recorded quality starts in each of his four outings and won the last two. Simon has made only one start against the Cubs -- a six-inning stint in a win April 18 --but is 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA in 11 career appearances against them.

#903 MILWAUKEE @ #904 ST LOUIS - 8:15 PM
•Brewers RH Yovani Gallardo (2-0, 1.42 ERA, WHIP: 1.074) - Gallardo has worked at least six innings and allowed two runs or fewer in all five of his starts, including Tuesday's eventual 2-1 loss to San Diego in which he gave up one run and five hits over seven frames. Gallardo is holding opponents to a .219 batting average and has given up only one home run in 31 2/3 innings. His career against the Cardinals has been one long nightmare, however, with a 1-11 record and a 6.46 ERA in 17 starts.

--KEY STAT: GALLARDO is 31-15 (+14.1 Units) against the money line versus an National League team with a team batting average of .255 or worse over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was GALLARDO 4.8, OPPONENT 3.6.

•Cardinals RH Michael Wacha (2-2, 2.10 ERA, WHIP: 1.033) - Wacha had a 1.73 ERA heading into his last start, when he lasted only four innings against the Mets, giving up two runs and three hits with 10 strikeouts but also five walks, including two with the bases loaded. Prior to that, Wacha had walked a total of three batters in his first four starts, including three outings in which he gave up one earned run or less. Wacha appeared in one game against Milwaukee last season, yielding three runs in one inning of relief in a game where he actually got the win.

#905 COLORADO @ #906 ARIZONA - 9:40
•Rockies LH Franklin Morales (2-1, 3.86 ERA, WHIP: 1.362) - Morales has been sharp in each of his last two turns, allowing a total of two earned runs on nine hits in 13 innings while striking out 12. The converted reliever struck out a season-high seven in a win over San Francisco on Tuesday and is making a case to remain in the rotation when Jhoulys Chacin returns from the disabled list. Morales missed Arizona the first time around and does not have much experience against its lineup.

--KEY STAT: MORALES is 15-2 OVER (+13.1 Units) when the total is 8.5 to 10 since 1997. (Team's Record)
The average score was MORALES 6.8, OPPONENT 5.8.

--MORALES is 9-0 against the run line (+9.9 Units) versus teams averaging 2.75 or less extra base hits per game since 1997. (Team's Record)
The average score was MORALES 5.2, OPPONENT 2.6.

•Diamondbacks LH Wade Miley (2-2, 4.50 ERA, WHIP: 1.278) - Miley looked to be turning a corner with a strong start at Los Angeles on April 18 but lasted only five innings at Chicago on Wednesday, surrendering five runs - three earned - on four hits and three walks. The 27-year-old has issued a total of 11 walks in 16 innings over his last three turns. Miley enjoyed his longest outing of the season at Colorado on April 6, allowing two runs in eight innings to pick up the win.

#907 SAN DIEGO @ #908 SAN FRANCISCO - 10:15 PM
•Padres RH Tyson Ross (2-3, 3.16 ERA, WHIP: 1.341) - Ross was outstanding against the Giants on April 18, when he blanked them on four hits over eight innings. He wasn’t so sharp in his last outing as the Milwaukee Brewers torched him for five runs and nine hits – including two homers – in six frames. Ross is 1-2 with a 3.21 ERA in six career appearances (four starts) against the Giants.

--KEY STAT: ROSS is 4-13 against the run line (-13.6 Units) in night games over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was ROSS 2.9, OPPONENT 4.3.

•Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (2-2, 3.14 ERA, WHIP: 1.640) - Bumgarner has lost back-to-back assignments, both by 2-1 scores. He gave up two runs – both on solo homers – and nine hits in eight innings while losing to Colorado in his last turn. Bumgarner is 6-3 with a 3.30 ERA in 17 career appearances (16 starts) against San Diego.

--KEY STAT: BUMGARNER is 2-8 (-11.1 Units) against the money line in home games versus an National League team with a team batting average of .255 or worse over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was BUMGARNER 2.3, OPPONENT 2.9.

--BUMGARNER is 18-5 UNDER (+12.2 Units) versus an National League team with an on base percentage .325 or worse over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was BUMGARNER 3.0, OPPONENT 2.6.

--BUMGARNER is 19-6 UNDER (+11.8 Units) when the total is 7 or less over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was BUMGARNER 3.0, OPPONENT 2.7.

#909 TAMPA BAY @ #910 CHI WHITE SOX - 7:10 PM
•Rays RH Jake Odorizzi (1-2, 6.52 ERA, WHIP: 1.707) - Odorizzi did not come close to matching his season debut in his next three starts, allowing 14 runs in 13 1/3 combined innings while going 0-2 with a no-decision. The 24-year-old from Illinois shut out Texas on three hits over six frames to begin the season but has yielded 20 hits since without completing more than five innings. Odorizzi will be facing the White Sox for the first time.

•White Sox RH Andre Rienzo (1-0, 4.91 ERA, WHIP: 1.233) - Rienzo battled through 6 1/3 innings in his first start of the season on Wednesday, yielding four runs and five hits to win at Detroit. The 6-3 Brazilian made 10 starts for the White Sox last season, going 2-3 with a 4.82 ERA while striking out 38 and walking 28. Rienzo, who pitched one scoreless inning of relief on April 20 against Texas, never has faced the Rays and was 0-2 at home in 2013.

#911 OAKLAND @ #912 TEXAS - 8:05 PM
•Athletics RH Sonny Gray (3-1, 2.25 ERA, WHIP: 1.344) - Gray is facing Texas for the second straight start after having his six-game winning streak snapped last Wednesday, when he allowed three runs while striking out eight in a 3-0 loss to the Rangers. The 24-year-old, who has never lost consecutive decisions, continues to struggle early in games with a career ERA of 5.40 in the first inning. “But he always finds a way to come back and keep you in the game,” manager Bob Melvin told mlb.com.

•Rangers RH Yu Darvish (1-0, 1.61 ERA, WHIP: 1.107) - Darvish took a no-decision against the Athletics last Monday, allowing three runs while striking out six and throwing 116 pitches over six frames. Brandon Moss is 6-for-18 with four home runs and Coco Crisp has six hits in 17 at-bats (including a home run) against the 27-year-old, who is 1-6 with a 4.32 ERA in eight career starts against Oakland. He’s pitched well in his first two starts at home this season, posting a 1.20 ERA over 15 innings.

--KEY STAT: DARVISH is 14-1 (+12.6 Units) against the money line in April games over the last 3 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was DARVISH 5.8, OPPONENT 2.1.

--DARVISH is 13-3 UNDER (+10.0 Units) as a home favorite of -150 or more over the last 2 seasons. (Team's Record)
The average score was DARVISH 3.4, OPPONENT 2.5.

#913 CLEVELAND @ #914 LA ANGELS - 10:05 PM
•Indians RH Justin Masterson (0-0, 4.50 ERA, WHIP: 1.571) - While the Indians are 3-2 in Masterson's five starts, he has yet to record a decision. Following a pair of rocky outings at the beginning of the month, he has allowed two earned runs in 6 1/3 innings in back-to-back starts, striking out 15 batters in the process. The 29-year-old Masterson is 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA in 12 career games (nine starts) against Los Angeles and 3-0 with a 2.14 mark at Angel Stadium.

--KEY STAT: MASTERSON is 16-6 (+14.1 Units) against the money line versus good power teams - averaging 1.25 or more HR's/game since 1997. (Team's Record)
The average score was MASTERSON 4.6, OPPONENT 2.8.

•Angels LH Tyler Skaggs (2-0, 3.21 ERA, WHIP: 1.107) - Skaggs limited Washington to two runs and only three hits in seven solid innings of a 7-2 win on Tuesday, improving to 2-0 on the road. However, he has given up eight earned runs and 16 hits in 13 frames at home so far and is 3-6 with a 5.08 ERA at home in his career, which includes parts of two seasons with Arizona. Skaggs, who has seven strikeouts and seven walks in his last two outings, never has faced Cleveland.

Kevin's Pick(s):
I couldn't follow up that 5 Star win with another win as the Blue Jays beat the Red Sox to avoid the sweep. Red Sox starter Jon Lester had great career numbers vs Toronto, but he was out pitched by Dickey who had poor numbers vs Boston coming into Sunday. We have a smaller MLB board on Monday, but I've got an underdog play going tonight.
2 UNIT = Colorado Rockies @ Arizona Diamondbacks - ROCKIES TO WIN (+124)
Listed Pitchers: Morales vs Miley
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 2.48 units)
These two teams met at the beginning of this month in Colorado, with the Rockies taking 2 of the three games. The Rockies are coming off a series win in Los Angeles vs the Dodgers and are now 14-12 on the season and 6-8 on the road. The Diamondbacks dropped two straight vs Philadelphia to lose their weekend series at home, and are now an awful 8-20 on the season and just 2-13 at home. Tonight's match up is a southpaw match up with Franklin Morales on the mound for Colorado and Wade Miley on the rubber for Arizona. Morales is 2-1 with a 3.86 ERA, .260 OBA and 1.36 WHIP on the season. He had one rough starts vs Chicago allowing 6 earned runs, but other than that game he's been very solid. In his last two starts he has gone a combined 13 innings allowing just 2 earned runs with 12 strikeouts and 3 walks. On the road he is 1-0 with a 2.92 ERA so far this season. Wade Miley is 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA, .231 OBA and 1.28 WHIP. He did pick up a win vs Colorado earlier this year allowing 2 earned runs over 8 innings of work. Although it includes his "home" start in Australie, Miley is just 1-2 with a 6.35 ERA over three home starts this season. Take note that the Rockies are tied for 1st in the MLB for team average vs lefties and 4th in team OPS, while the Diamondbacks are 22nd in average and 25th in OPS vs left handed pitchers. Also note that the Rockies are 7-3 in their last 10 overall, 4-1 in their last 5 as an underdog, 4-0 in Morale's last 4 starts as an underdog, and 8-3 in Morale's last 11 road starts. The Dbacks are just 1-6 in their last 7 games as a favorite, 1-9 in their last 10 vs left handed starters, and 2-9 in their last 11 following a loss. I find this to be a pretty equal pitching match up tonight, but the Rockies have an advantage at the plate - especially with two lefties on the mound. I'll take the Rockies at a nice underdog price.
