Listed below are our AL Game of the Week and a bonus 2 Unit selection as well. Let's get things turned around with a 2-0 night.
Texas at LA Angels 10:05pm EST
Selection: LA ANGELS -140
Profile: Upon an initial glance it would appear like Texas is the right play in this game based on the starting pitching match-up, as well as the Rangers success over the Angels this season. However, the oddsmakers line that they put out in this game says it all, as they know that Anaheim is the correct play. Texas is coming off of a big televised home win on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball, as well as a very successful home stand. However now the young Rangers team has to go on the road to face an Angels team looking for revenge. Their line-up, as well as their starting pitcher, is looking for revenge against Texas. Jered Weaver pitched very poorly at Texas just a few days ago. However, he pitches much worse on the road. Weaver has shown a very strong home/road dichotomy in his career as well. He has had success against Texas in his career, and he has shown a very strong tendency to bounce back well after poor outings. Therefore I expect Weaver to pitch very well against Texas and go deep into the game. Meanwhile, Anaheim's bats have been very hot lately, and they get to face Kevin Millwood again after having good success against him just a few days ago. Anaheim's line-up hits righties much better at home than Texas does on the road. I expect their line-up to be very focused and hit Millwood hard in the first few innings. Look for Anaheim to get the home win.
3 UNIT SELECTION

San Diego at Arizona 9:40pm EST
Selection: ARIZONA -160
Profile: Jon Garland gets the start for Arizona tonight, and he has had an up and down season so far. However, the main reason for his inconsistency has been when he has started immediately after Diamondbacks starter Dan Haren. Haren has a very similar pitching style to Garland, but Garland's stuff isn't as good. Therefore teams are able to really key on Garland based on what they saw from Haren a day earlier. San Diego righty Walter Silva has been awful this season, especially on the road. Look for Arizona to get the win behind a strong performance from Garland.

Cincinnati Reds at Philadelphia Phillies

Selection: 2* Reds/Phillies Under 9

The Reds and Phillies open up a 4 game set tonight at Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia and Game 1 should be a beauty. The Phillies send their Ace to the mound in Cole Hamels, who of late hasn't looked like the World Series MVP that he was. Cole has struggled in his last two outings going less than 5 innings each start allowing 7 Earned Runs in his last start and 4 Earned Runs the start before that. However, Cole has had a lot of success against the Reds and this should be a good spot for him to bounce back. Hamels is 4-0 against the Reds in his career with a 1.25 ERA and a 0.944 WHIP. The Under is 4-0 in Hamels last 4 starts against the Reds. Hamels should put together a strong performance tonight and then leave up to his bullpen who for the most part looks like they pulled things back together. Chan Ho Park has been outstanding out of the pen, and Brad Lidge looks like his old self in his last couple of saves.

The Reds counter with Johnny Cueto who has had a very good year so far. Cueto is 8-4 with a 2.69 ERA on the year. In his last 10 starts, Cueto has allowed 3 Earned Runs or less in 7 of those starts. In his most recent start, he went 6 innings allowing only 1 hit. Cueto has only had one career start against the Phillies in which he went 7 innings and allowed 4 Earned Runs. I expect Cueto to keep a still struggling Phillies line-up in check.

Jimmy Rollins looks to have gotten his swing back after being benched but that still hasn't turned into a huge amount of runs for the team. In their 2-0 win yesterday, they only had 3 hits but thankfully for them two of them were home runs. They won another low scoring affair Saturday against the Mets and I expect a similar result today. And if history repeats itself we will cash an easy winner. The Under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams, and 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Philadelphia. Play the Reds/Phillies to finish UNDER the posted total!

Good Luck,
Chris James

I had an Alatex subscription for a week until yesterday but it's expired now. He did alright and overall been very good in MLB this season.

Erin Rynning could be on the verge of heating up which he usually does around this time of the MLB season. He won his big 20* earlier today with Toronto.
