The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Pony picks: Friday's best horse racing bets

The really successful horse players tackle tons of races a day and hope that their knowledge in the long run turns them profitable. Being a tout, I only get two races a day, so it could take months for that profit to show. I also don't want to be like the talking heads on TVG where it seems no one has heard of ROI or value.

The idea of my “show” betting is to find the value horse that could blow up the value of an exacta or possibly hit for a big score. I’m going to focus on one race and really dissect it for Friday.

Santa Anita Race 5

Early speed always does well on the downhill course and the outside post, which can almost end up being an inside post because of the configuration, is also worth a look.

Gallant Son – Inside post and horse who hasn’t won in close to a year, but a closer look shows his better races have come sprinting and he’s done well with Mike Smith aboard. Hard to think that form comes back today.

Daytona – First time back since the Breeders’ Cup (three years ago) is always a bet against for me, but he has the speed and a great Santa Anita record. At 6-1 with not a ton of other speed, he’s worth a look.

Kelly Leak – When looking at PP’s I always look for that little star next to a horse’s odds to show that at one point they were a favorite. This horse has never been a favorite in the PP’s I’m looking at, in easier spots. I don’t like his come-from-behind style and I don’t like a horse who regularly works strong in the morning looking rather sluggish.

Dilemma – This horse won a Gr III two back but followed it up w/ a bit of clunker. Was it a bounce? Very possible. So with a bit of a break and some strong works his regular level of racing still puts him right with the others.

Regally Ready – The favorite having won two out of the last three and favored in the losing effort two back. He’s never been much of a worker in the morning, so I think what you see is what you get. He’ll be hard to knock off the top, when he did lose two back and they pushed him early. That doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Leroy’s Dynameaux – Took a big cutback in distance last out and proved himself worthy in what appears like a tough race. I like the switch to Bejarano and I like the second chance at the distance.

Blue Chagall – Gomez looks like he had a choice here and didn’t choose this horse. The cutback I’m not sure helps a horse by Testa Rossa. There’s better value elsewhere.

Noble Court – Won this race two years ago and while the last race looks good, I'm not sure his style fits here.

I think Regally Ready will have his way on the front end, but hoping Leroy’s Dynameux creates some value underneath. I wish I could see this race, interesting to see what Daytona looks like.

Ice picks: Friday's best NHL bets

New York Islanders at Carolina Hurricanes (-175, 5.5)

If the Hurricanes are going to stay in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff race, they’re going to have to give goaltender Cam Ward some help.

The ‘Canes dropped a 3-1 decision to the Toronto Maple Leafs Wednesday night and have managed just five goals over the last four games. A major issue has been their power play, which did click once against the Leafs, but was riding a terrible 0-for-27 stretch before that.

You have to wonder if Ward is starting to wear out a bit as well. He didn’t look like his usual self against Toronto, giving up the three goals on only 19 shots.

“Their guy (Cam Ward) has played, what, 63 games? There’s night where he’s not going to be as good … but everybody’s like that,” Leafs coach Ron Wilson told reporters.

Meanwhile, Rookie of the Year frontrunner Jeff Skinner has been quiet lately too with just one point over the last five games, but you have to think the Hurricanes will show up for this one as they have a couple tough matchups on the schedule looming.

Pick: Hurricanes

Phoenix Coyotes at Vancouver Canucks (-200, 5.5)

The Canucks became the first team to crack the 100-point plateau and clinch a playoff spot this week and now face off against a desperate Coyotes team that’s on a roll. Looks like a classic letdown spot.

Phoenix has shrugged off a nasty five-game losing skid to win four of its last five games while picking up a point in their only loss during that stretch. The Coyotes built a 4-1 lead in the third period Tuesday against the Flames and then hung on for a crucial 4-3 victory as a +120 underdog.

"It's great to play teams like this. They bring the best out in us," Vernon Fiddler told reporters after the game. "It's crunch time. If you lose one point, you seem to slide down in the standings so you can't afford to lose any. It's a matter of details, and we seem to be doing the right things right now."

We like the sounds of that.

Pick: Coyotes

Pick 'n' roll: Friday's best basketball bets

Golden State Warriors at Phoenix Suns (-5, 216)

Steve Nash was supposed to return to the lineup off his pelvic injury on Wednesday and magically resurrect the Suns’ offense while putting an end to the team’s five-game losing streak. Well, he came back but couldn’t end the skid.

Nash managed eight points and 10 assists in a 100-95 loss to the Hornets and Suns bettors may want to temper their expectations of the Canadian point guard for the next little while. Nash gutted out 35 minutes but wasn’t nearly as potent as he normally is.

"He tried, but he's not the same guy," Suns coach Alvin Gentry told reporters. "I didn't expect him to be.”

Now the Suns have to find a way to get their offense going against the high-scoring Warriors. Phoenix normally has its way with Golden State, but this one could be tricky with Nash hobbled.

The last three meetings between the two clubs have played under and riding that trend may be your best bet here.

Pick: Under

NCAA National Invitation Tournament

California Golden Bears vs. Colorado Buffaloes (-5.5, 155)

Consider this matchup an appetizer for next season when Colorado joins Cal in what will become the Pac-12.

California squeaked past Mississippi 77-74 in the opening round of the NIT, backed by a big game from Jorge Gutierrez. The 6-foot-3 guard put up 23 points and hit a pair of clutch free throws in the final minute to seal the deal, but this matchup with the top-seeded Buffaloes will be a major test.

After being snubbed by the NCAA Selection Committee four days earlier, Alec Burks dropped 27 points and Cory Higgins added 25 as Colorado ousted Texas Southern 88-74 in the opening round. However, coach Tad Boyle wasn’t overly impressed.

"We'll take that, I guess. It wasn't the prettiest game,” Boyle told reporters. “I thought mentally, we were a little out of it . . . we had a little funk to us, if you will. We didn't have that mojo we need to have.”

This is the kind of game that should get Colorado going.

Pick: Buffaloes
