Boise St over SAN JOSE ST by 4
With BYU falling by the wayside at Fort Worth Thursday night, the BCSbuster
race has become a two-horse affair featuring unbeaten Utah and
Boise State. But even though the Broncos ran roughshod over San Jose last
year by a 42-7 fi nal, this game looks to be Boise’s most likely shot at being
ambushed before its season-ending battle against Fresno State. True, the
Broncos have dominated the series with seven consecutive SU victories but
teams with perfect records often times take their fi rst loss of the season on
the road in tough venues. Spartan Stadium certainly fi ts that description
– visiting teams have taken 16 shots at SJSU here since Dick Tomey came on
board in 2005 but have managed to cash only three times. The 5-2 Spartans
are 6-2 ATS playing with WAC revenge and Tomey has grabbed the money
in fi ve straight home dog appearances. Boise Blue laid doubles in the past
seven meetings in the series so you’ll have to show some discipline not to be
seduced by the ‘cheap’ 7-point number here. San Jose improves to a sterling
6-1 ATS in ’08 with its fourth straight cover.
