We are Greyhound fans yet again today. If you remember, we took Loyola Maryland with revenge against one of my favorite teams in Niagara and they held on as they led outright in the first half. So, this Loyola Maryland team went on the road to lead a conference leader outright at the half only to fall apart in the second half as Niagara made a strong push and overcame a first half deficit to hold serve at home. Well, now it's Loyola Maryland's turn. They return home after the loss. They need this game. This is an evening conference game. Loyola is a top 175 team and they have been playing better and they play a Fairfield team that has a tough task against them. Remember, Loyola beat Canisius by 26 points on the road and has played two of the conference leaders early already. They played Niagara twice and they played Siena once. Why is this important? Well, their conference record is not indicative of how good this team will be in the conference. After all, that is like playing UNC twice and Duke once if you are an ACC team and winning your other conference that is not a UNC or a Duke. So, just because you are 1-3 in the conference does not mean you are not a good team. It just means you played the cream of the crop early. Loyola MD is the same team that beat James Madison on the road and they picked up a ton of confidence from the loss to Niagara as they were in that game from start to finish. From leading at the half to only being down 6 points late, this Loyola team was competitive and now this team will really push forward for a big conference win at home. Fairfield barely defeated top 300 Army and Fordham on the road, they will have their hands full with a conference for in Loyola Maryland who is a top 175 team. The Greyhounds are 4-1 ATS overall while the Fairfield Stags are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games.
4 Unit Play. #814. Take Milwaukee Bucks -5 over New Jersey Nets (Friday @ 8:30pm est). The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the best bounce-back teams in the league. What are they bouncing back from today? Well, this team recently lost at home to the Sixers by a score of 105-110 as they were laying -7.5 points. But, this should not be surprising consider the Sixers had revenge and had been playing better ball coming into this game. Don't forget, we have riden the Bucks countless times this year and rightfully so as they are 24-12 ATS this year. That's covering at a solid 66% clip for 2008-2009. This team has covered 7 of their last 10 and I just want to take you back to their last 3 non-ATS covers to show you how they bounce-back. When this team lost to the Pistons at home by 11, they quickly bounce-back and went into San Antonio and won outright by a bucket as 8 point dogs. When this team lost on the road to Charlotte by 10 on a home and home (which happens all the time when one team wins at home only to see the other team bounce-back and cover/win su at their home) they bounced-back and defeated the Raptors while covering the -8.5 chalk at home. Well, much is the same today as this team hosts a Nets team that comes off big wins against Memphis and Sacramento. Harris is listed as questionable for this game and Bogut is listed as doubtful for the Bucks. But, the difference is the fact that the Nets will have to rely on the point guard play of Dooling and Carter on the road as they will be missing a key piece today. I'll take my chances with Richard Jefferson playing his old team today in the Nets, Michael Redd and Charlie V stepping up today. Besides, I like the Bucks bench as they feature Elson, Sessions and Bell as compared to the Nets bench which features Lopez, Najera and Hayes
