Analysis:
The Blazers are coming from 3 amazing performances in the last 3 games. Do you noticed that they beat the Suns by 20 points (129-109), then they spanked the Grizzlies by 20 points (86-66) and last game they humiliated the Jazz by 21 points (125-104). We are talking about 3 consecutive plus 20-points wins in the last 3 games. The coincidence of those wins is that all were at home where the Blazers are 31-7 SU. Now they have to play on the road against a lowly team and this is potential letdown spot for them. Note that the Blazers have a losing record on the road with 16-20.
Meanwhile the young Thunder' team is coming from the most impressive road win of the season by beating the Spurs 96-95. I was with the Thunder in that game and the Thunder is one of the few lowly teams that are really competing right now and not thinking in the lottery. The Ford Center is one of the loudest places in the NBA (like the Rose Garden is) and we must not forget that the Thunder is 15-3 ATS in their last 18 games as a home underdog. Youngsters Duran, Green and Westbrook are competitive players but the Thunder improved even more since Nenad Krstic joined the team and he's playing major minutes. Last game against the Spurs Krstic shot 8-11 from the field scoring 16 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
I think that the Thunder will be an active dog in this contest. The Blazers are coming from easy wins and they didn't have to compete down the stretch and this might hurt them tonight. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the Thunder wins this game. This series is 1-1 with both teams wining at home. The Thunder beat 102-93 the Blazers and in the following week the Blazers defeated the Thunder by 14 points. However I have to say that the Blazers led only by 6 points after the third quarter and the Thunder had a terrible spot as they played in the previous night in LA against the Lakers. Take the Thunder in here.

Analysis:
The Spurs ended March in the worst possible way by losing at home against the lowly Thunder. They are just 4-5 L9 games and naturally we can say that they aren't playing at their best. However we have to look deeper as the Spurs had a horrible schedule lately and if we take in account that we are dealing with a veteran team we wouldn't be surprised of such struggles. In fact the Spurs played 5 games in 8 nights and the strange pattern was that they played home-away-home-away-home games! They were always caught in travels and little time to rest.
This is not the case of tonight's game as the Spurs had a much needed 2 days off to rest and prepare this game. Note that Manu Ginobili is back and he made his best game since his return. The Spurs will bring their best effort to the court tonight especially on the defensive end and this will hurt the chances of the Pacers.
The Pacers are coming from 2 good home wins against the Wizards and the Bulls in two high scoring games. Against the Wizards or the Bulls you can win games by "outscoring" them but against a team like the Spurs you need to play some defense and the Pacers simply can't do this anymore. Against the Bulls Danny Granger and T.J Ford combined to score 53 points by shooting a whopping mark of 22-34 from the field but in San Antonio in the first game between these two teams the Spurs hold them to just 9-29 from the field! The Spurs need badly to win this contest and they have all the conditions to perform at their best. I understand that the Pacers are still thinking in reaching the playoffs but without any kind of defense they don't have a chance including tonight's game. Take the Spurs in here.

Analysis:
The public perception is that the Hawks can beat the Celtics in Boston. Why not? The Celtics are struggling lately without Kevin Garnet and last game they almost lost at home against the Bobcats despite being 8.5 points home favorites. The series are 3-0 for Boston but the three games this season have been decided by a total of 10 points so we might assume that the Hawks are fired up for today and they want revenge. Josh Smith said the following:
"I'm not worried about the playoffs or anything other than right now and the fact that we've got to find a way to beat these guys," Hawks forward Josh Smith. "They're a top notch team, we can't take anything from them. They've defended their title the way any champion would. But we've got to find a way to get over the hump against them."
Saying that, I don't have any doubt that the Celtics being 4.5 points favorites at home against the Hawks have great value. I'm tired to hear all that stuff from the Hawks players and staff. Actually I think that they are the "Utah Jazz" of the Eastern Conference as they constantly are saying that they have to be more competitive on the road and so on but each time they face a top team the result is always the same: a loss! Their point differential on the road is -2.70 ppg and of all the teams that already have 40 wins only the Jazz have worst numbers. The Hawks are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a winning home record!
Last game they lost in Philadelphia against the Sixers 85-98. Thaddeus Young got injured in the first quarter but still the Sixers didn't have any problem to cruise past the Hawks. The Sixers play a similar defense of the Celtics as they don't want to allow easy shots in the paint, that's why the Hawks were outscored in the paint 32-42! Despite Kevin Garnet won't play tonight the Celtics remains a tough team down the post as Glen Davis and Perkins both have the weight and the size to keep busy the Hawks' frontcourt.
Last week the Celtics didn't have any problem to beat the Hawks in Atlanta as they led by 17 points after the third quarter. For some reason center Al Horford against the Celtics shot the following numbers: 2-6 FG; 3-10 FG and 3-12 FG! I think that the Celtics are underrated for this game and I don't think that the Hawks have the necessary pedigree to beat one top team on the road right now. Take the Celtics in here.
