ot-I am not going to debate this but am just expressing my opinion based on gambling on sports for well over 50 years and

being a fan for over 70 years(starting at around eight years old).

Anyways as it relates to gambling on sports, a lot more times than not when it comes to a possible elimination/must-win

game in the playoffs, simply betting on the team trying to stave off elimination is not a good bet and especially so

when the time trying to stave off elimination is a sizable favorite even at home such as we saw last night in NBA.

In the first game, Cleveland was favored by 5 1/2 points and didn't even win the game let alone cover the spread!!

In the second game, it was the same as Milwaukee not only did not cover the 12 1/2 point spread but lost outright also ending

their season as was the case with Cleveland!!

Of course, this doesn't happen all of the time, but again based on my historical experience, it is not a good bet to make a big bet

on teams in this situation and especially when a significant point spread is involved.

Conversely and to be fair the opposite can be true when a team facing elimination is an UNDERDOG.

The two most recent example of this are:

1) in the NHL where Florida defeated the Bruins in Boston yesterday as a +250 underdog.

2) On the day before, Atlanta trying to stave off elimination went into Boston and defeated the Celtics as a 13 1/2 dog.

That's it-thanks for reading whether you agree, disagree or are somewhere in between!!
