I wouldn't knock online dating. I met my current wife that way and she's better than any "real world" woman I've had. For one nighters or short flings the real world is probably better but for a serious relationship I swear by the internet method.

The good things about internet dating are:

- you can get to know 10 people per day or more, very efficient

- you can get to the deeper, more important issues right away because there is no ice that needs breaking

- you can usually have sex on the first real date even with chicks who don't normally do that because you already know each other by then.

- you can meet people you normally would never meet because they don't go to bars or other places you do...eg. teenage girls from small towns who chat from school and never leave town


Big disadvantage -- you don't know for sure what they look like till you meet them because the picture may be old, altered or fake.

Still, I never had much trouble picking up chicks in real life yet for these reasons I prefer the internet.
