Modena at US PESCARA – To understand Modena’s recent slide (winless in the last 11 games); it is imperative to look at the opposition faced in those 11 weeks. Some of the notables on that list include: Vicenza, Mantova, Napoli, Albinoleffe (early in that stretch), and in the last three weeks: Genoa (1-0 loss), Juventus (1-0 loss, with Juventus scoring at the end of regulation time), and last week’s tough 0-0 draw against Rimini. An improved defensive scheme can only carry you so far, especially if your opponents are playing good defense and are also capable of scoring. US Pescara’s has much improved since the Christmas break (a valiant effort to avoid relegation), but remains the worst defensive team in Serie B. Last week’s heartbreaking loss to Verona will weigh heavily in tomorrow’s match. Four points separate these two, Modena (22), and US Pescara (19). With the improbable win, Modena would create for itself some much needed breathing room, and besides, Bologna is on deck for next week. A loss here coupled with the potential of another next week, and you can begin looking at your Serie C menu. These two will truly duke it out, and an exchange of goals is not entirely out of the picture. I am fully aware that Modena has only scored 12 goals all season; managing an output of more than 1 goal only 3 times (one of those was a 2-0 win against Pescara).

SAMPDORIA OVER 2 and 2.5 +104 (9 units)

MA says: The Modena plays: Play both or none. Trust me, I know what I'm
saying. For a more cautious approach: the Sampdoria over, Genoa and Genoa over.
Good luck,
MA
