Some early lines I have taken.

South Carolina +3.5, UVa's starting Qb out, new QB on the road in the SEC, maybe wrong but like the #.

Tenn -19, Marshall Offensive not as good as last year, Marshall's defense probably as bad as last year.

Reasons for Tenn -19.

Every year it seems Marshall plays a top 20 team outside the Mac, and every year they get beat pretty bad, last year Va Tech, year before Fla.. Marshall's Qb threw 3 interceptions at home against a 1-AA team last week. This week he gets to play in front of 103,000,against a team that shutdown a very similar offense holding Fresno to 118 total yards.

Unless something has changed Marshall's defense has never been good especially against the run.

I don't think Tenn. coach was to happy with his team not finishing Fresno off faster. Look for Tenn. if they get the chance to put this one away. Maybe wrong as always but, worth a bet to me. 35-14.

My biggest concern in this game is Marshall does have two very good receivers.

Picks in this forum 3-3 on the year

GREAT POINT ON THE MARSHALL GAME. HILL IS GOOD FOR AT LEASE 3 PICKS THIS WEEK AS WELL.ALL THAT DRINKING AND DRIVING IN THE OFF SEASON HAS SLOWED HIM DOWN.I LIKE LA.TECH AS WELL.

GOOD LUCK THIS WEEK!

Death,

I don't know if I would be that optimistic about 3 picks, but I believe Tenn is due to get some TOs. They beat fresno by 18 with no TOs. I think they can beat Marshall by 20 if they can be +1 in the TO area.

On to LA tech:

It is early in the season so it is hard to compare these two teams, espeically since La Tech played Miami and La Laff. played SC.. But a couple of things that stand out.

QB's - La Tech starts a senior who hit 55% of his passes against one of the best defenseive teams in the country(I think).
La Laff- a 19 year old QB who has played one game and since it was low scoring wasn't forced to put the ball up a lot.

Defense: I think both teams have improved but, SC offense is nothing like La Tech's spread offense don't know if La Laff has upgraded talent enough to keep up with LA tech.

I think there is still a talent gap between these two although narrowed as compared to 2000 when La Tech blew them out. Add a very experienced good QB VS inexperienced who will have to put points on the board, and I like laying the small #. Maybe wrong but I will take a shot at La Tech. GL
