I rarely play totals and when I do I usually select games I think are gonna go over. My question is what do some of you guys look for in selecting totals, past games, trends, matchups, ect.

It depends on the sport. NFL, NCAAF, NBA, NCAAB, MLB, etc.

In the NBA playoffs, I look at past games in the series as well as how they played during the season against one another, quarter by quarter with first and second units in, and the match-ups that occur, plus the adjustments from game to game. Those create trends for the series that are useful but don't just blindly follow a trend. Watching each game from start to finish is a must in the playoffs.

i've done well watching the game and betting the o/u in the 2nd half. you need to be patient though! When you see a large difference in the orginal 0/u and the 2nd half you will see the value in it
