The way to do it is to take a baseball, after a pitch from Scherzer (or whoever), and put it into a plastic lab bag and take it to a lab, as they said they would do opening day but apparently have not.
AND they should dock the pitchers pay for the 10 day suspension.
I am in favor of cracking down on this it is amazing not ONE pitcher has been caught this year, even though it is widespread.

Prior to this past Monday, umpires were not permitted to conduct a search unless an opposing mgr demanded it

And no mgr was willing to do it because upwards of 70% of all pitchers have been using illegal substances therefore 2/3 of their own guys were doing it
