Why do you think they backed off? Because the 5,000 people showed em? It's kind of like when there is a high speed chase in a heavy populated area, sometimes you just back off for the good of the people. They backed off for the good of the people, not because they were scared.

They tried to do their job and uphold the law. The militia hillbillies came to try to intimidate. They are lucky the govt does not want to kill them. Same thing happened in the riots in Los Angeles. The police backed out because they knew if they stayed the situation would lead to the deaths of 100s to 1000s of scumbag Americans.

Nobody ever suggested or advocated violence, except Dirty Harry's goons who showed up with guns threatening the ranchers.

The Attorney General and head of the IRS are currently in criminal contempt of Congress...and you're surprised growing numbers of people are in open revolt? face)(*^%

If the government doesn't have to follow the law (or rather picks and chooses which laws to follow AND abuses those laws to "punish our enemies"), why should the people respect those same laws?

Have you read the Declaration of Independence?

No I don't believe they would open fire on them but I do believe some nut in the 5,000 would open fire causing a retaliation and a bloody mess. I can't believe you guys think that Bundy and the 5,000 are right in this.

The Governor of Nevada and the Sheriff of Clark County know full well that the Bundy family didn't break any Nevada laws.

The Fedzilla had absolutely no business intimidating and physically threatening the Bundy family, just as they had no business raiding Gibson Guitars a couple years back.

Yeah the fringe of both parties is frightening. Definitely agree with you there. The scary part is the fringe seems to be growing on both sides.

I disagree that the extreme left is growing at this point in time. But even if they were, there is a HUGE difference in the fringes nowadays. Back in the 60's and 70's, the leftist fringe WAS violent to varying degrees. Their desires to off the pigs is most like these lowlifes in Nevada. Now, the lefty fringes aren't violent, for the most part(of course their are exceptions, but violence isn't the goal). OWS didn't have people gathering with guns, threatening to blow the cops heads offs, like these lunatics in Nevada. The lefty fringes want to disarm.
