Just a word of caution, I am mildly familiar with some of these teams having bet the Champions League. This however does not make me an educated bettor. These picks are just for fun and will not appear on any YTD record.

FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk +1 and +1.5 -136 over Olympique Marseille (Pinnacle) 2 units
Dnipro is a veteran of the Champions League and will not be a pushover here. After betting the last 2 years of French league action I have found the French matches to be low-scoring affairs. I can see that if Marseille gets ahead by one they will sit on their lead. Don't count Dnipro out of winning this match. It appears that Marseille star Ribery will not be in this match as he is soaking his wounds on holiday (vacation).

Odense/Hibernians Edinburgh Under 2.5 -105 (Interwetten)
Odense will be playing in the Danish league next week. Odense is a much better team than the Dinaburg team that the Hibs beat handily recently.

Just another point on Odense. They sold their striker to another Scandinavian club and have moved their midfielder to striker position. This is another point that leads me to think that the Under is the choice here. Odense knows they lack the striker so I think they will be playing a defensive game to keep the Scots from winning.

Lillestrøm SK +1 and +1.5 -113 over Newcastle United (Pinnacle)
Newcastle will be getting too much respect here against the Norwegian club since they are members of the EPL. However, this is the first match for this club while Lillestrøm is in the middle of their season.

Lillestrøm knows that Newcastle is the better team so they will try to slow the action. Newcastle is without Michael Owen who is injured and also without Alan Shearer who has retired. They are also without Michael Chopra from last year.

Lillestrøm keeps this a close one. A bet on the under 2.5 +102 might be a wise one as well.

Grasshopper Club Zürich -0.5 -127 over KAA Gent (Pinnacle)
The Grasshoppers are the premier team in Austria. Gent is missing their goalkeeper Frederic Herpoel who will be replaced by an unknown 19 year old Sören Van de moortele. Look for a decided win by the Grasshoppers here.

One point of note, Pinnacle has the -0.5 at -127 while they have the Moneyline (which is the equivalent to -0.5) at -144. Rarely have I seen this much of a spread. I'm not sure what that even means.

Larissa/Kayserispor Over 2.5 +113 (Pinnacle)
Both teams will be motivated for this match to get into qualifying.

Larissa pk and -0.5 -101 (Pinnacle)
Larrisa is only getting pk and -0.5 because they are playing on a neutral field at Volos but will still be in Greece. This "neutral field" will cause bettors to shade toward Kayserispor more than they should. This Greek team is better than the Turkish team and will show the difference between leagues on the pitch.

Just a point of note, I will be traveling from Thailand to LAX soon. I leave my hotel in Thailand at 5:30 am on Sunday and will arrive at LAX 27 hours later at 7:30 pm Sunday so I won't be able to comment on these games until late Sunday night.
