Calgary is 0-3 vs spread this year with three games staying under total- their two wins were 24-23/25-20, both at home. Team Betting Notes

-- One of the most shocking results of the weekend was Jacksonville (7-7) suffering a 72-48 loss at Portland (4-10). The Sharks entered as a 13-point favorite. Portland has covered back-to-back games for just the second time this season, and they have failed to cover in three straight all season. They'll look to end that at San Jose next Saturday.

-- Philadelphia (13-2) dominated Cleveland (7-8) by a 72-56 score, winning and covering. They clinched the American Conference's East Division as a result of the big win. The 'over' has connected in three straight for Philly after the 'under' went 7-1 from Aprl 26-June 13 for the Soul.

-- New Orleans (2-12) came up short again Friday in San Jose (14-1), but the VooDoo continue to cover. They're 4-1 ATS in their past five games, and 4-0 ATS in their past four games as a double-digit underdog.

-- Arizona (12-2) won for the eighth straight game, topping Las Vegas (5-9) by a 57-43 count. The Rattlers have failed to cover the past two, however, while the 'under' has connected in three in a row.

-- Orlando (9-6) has won back-to-back games following their 69-62 win at Tampa Bay (6-8). The Predators saw the 'over' come in, snapping a three-game 'under' streak. The Preds travel to Cleveland next Saturday. Orlando is 1-1 SU with a 2-0 ATS mark against Cleveland, including a win at Quicken Loans Arena back on May 29.

-- LA Kiss (3-11) added to the disappointment this season for Spokane (4-10), dropping the Shock by a 34-28 score in a battle of bad teams. The 62-point total easily cashed an 'under' (101.5) ticket. The under is 5-1 in the past six for Los Angeles, and 9-5 overall this season.

USA biggest fave on the board in next round

Sportsbooks are currently offering the United States at -1200 against Cuba in the next round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Draw is presently +850 with Cuba coming in at +2500.

That easily makes the Stars and Stripes the biggest favorite on the board as the Gold Cup resumes Saturday.

Elsewhere, Jamaica is +140 versus Haiti (+220, Draw +200), Panama (+163) is favored against Trinidad & Tobago (+200, Draw +188) and Mexico is -138 against Costa Rica (+425, Draw +240).

The United States and Cuba meet in the opening quarterfinal matchup of the Gold Cup.

After winning Group A with seven points from two wins and a draw, the United States will look to ease past Cuba and into the semifinals of the Gold Cup. The USA was less than convincing in the group stage with two one-goal wins and one draw, and the country’s play must improve going forward if it hopes to repeat as champions of CONCACAF’s showcase tournament.

Some of the best American players have been in fine form, including Clint Dempsey, who has three goals from two-and-a-half games of action, and Michael Bradley, who has a goal and an assist to his name thus far in the tournament. Jozy Altidore has been omitted from the kNockout stage roster due to fitness concerns, and veteran DaMarcus Beasley has been added to the squad.

The USA will be confident of its chances of winning comfortably against a Cuba side that advanced to the quarterfinals despite having a -7 goal differential in the group stage. The Cubans began the tournament with a 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Mexico in a game in which the Caribbean nation was missing its manager and seven players. A more respectable 2-0 loss in the country’s second game was then followed up by a 1-0 win OverGuatemala, and the three points proved to be eNough to advance. Cuba has certainly improved Overthe course of the tournament, but the USA is an opponent of the same caliber as Mexico, which defeated Cuba by six goals.

This game will likely feature plenty of attacking action, and Over3.5 goals should be scored. Most – if Not all – of these goals could be scored by the United States, who should win comfortably, perhaps by a score of 4-0.

IndyCar embraces unique Iowa Speedway

NEWTON, Iowa – IndyCar Series rookie Stefano Coletti has heard stories about Iowa Speedway, a unique track he's never been to. It soon will be time to experience it for himself.

There's certainly no other track like Iowa on IndyCar's schedule and yet there is. It's short in distance like the Milwaukee Mile but rather than being flat it has high banks similar to Texas Motor Speedway.

That makes the action fast and furious.

"High banking and very short, with laps taking just over 17 seconds," Coletti said. "I have heard that it's pretty physical to drive."

It is, the drivers say, because it seems they're always cornering. After all, it's difficult to have long straightaways when the overall length of the track is less than a mile and the frontstretch curves.

"It's like driving in a soup bowl," two-time Iowa champion Ryan Hunter-Reay said.

Hunter-Reay knows what it takes to win even though he hasn't always had the dominant car. Last year, Tony Kanaan of Target Chip Ganassi Racing led 247 of the 300 laps but still lost to Hunter-Reay, the 2012 winner.

A caution for Turn 3 contact involving Juan Pablo Montoya and Ed Carpenter came out on Lap 282, and that set up a 10-lap, 3-minute shootout. Hunter-Reay and Josef Newgarden were to restart deep in the pack and knew they couldn't win without taking a gamble, so they came to pit road for new tires. Fresh rubber allowed them to knife through the field.

Hunter-Reay passed Kanaan with two laps to go and won. Newgarden followed Hunter-Reay to the finish line, finishing second. Kanaan settled for third.

The action always seems to be exciting.

"(Iowa) produces great racing and makes for a great night race, which is cool for the fans," 2011 winner Marco Andretti said.

Andretti and his father's organization, Andretti Autosport, obviously loves the track. It has won six of the eight races, including the past five. James Hinchcliffe won for the team in 2013, Kanaan won in Andretti colors in 2010. The other Andretti win came with Dario Franchitti in the inaugural event in 2007.

Kanaan has been very good at this track over the years, finishing in the top three in each of the past five races. He has yet to win a race this season.

There are several other drivers to watch, too, including Graham Rahal, who has finished first and third in IndyCar's current stretch of oval races. The summer strength he's shown has vaulted him to a tie for third place in the standings with Helio Castroneves.

Montoya, the series leader, is one of four drivers to have won the four oval races this season. He won the Indianapolis 500. Scott Dixon won at Texas Motor Speedway, Rahal won at Auto Club Speedway and Sebastien Bourdais won last week's race in Milwaukee.

Bourdais' confidence is high even though he doesn't have a lot to show for past Iowa races.

"We had a decent car there last year and have worked very hard on our oval setup this year," he said.

This will be IndyCar's second consecutive two-day event. Friday's practices are from 4-4:45 p.m. and 7-7:45 p.m. Qualifying is Saturday at 4 p.m. with the Iowa Corn Indy 300 at 8:50 p.m. on NBCSN. All times Eastern.

At the Gate - Saturday

We have a three-day carryover in the Pick 6 at Belmont Park for Saturday, with the pool having grown to $208,914.

The winners in the sequence on Friday paid $$8.40, $15.40, $5.70, $14.40, $7.20 and $34.40. The finale was won by longshot first timer Ross J Hawg for the Steve Klesaris barn.

Saturday’s Pick 6 starts with the fifth race (3:24 ET) which is a maiden special weight race which drew a full field and gets the sequence off to a tricky start.

The sixth race is the $125,000 Rockville Centre which drew eight with seven betting interests. Manipulated and Spin Cycle race as an entry while Lucky Lutie is the 9-5 morning line favorite off a game maiden score in his debut.

The seventh race is a $40,000 non-winners of two on turf that drew a full field and is a wide-open race. Police Camp is worth tossing in the mix at his 8-1 morning line exiting a key race where he ran third behind a pair of next out winners.

The eighth race is a first level allowance race which drew 10 including the Todd Pletcher trained Dekalb County, who beat $50,000 starter allowance foes last out in a gate to wire score, but was aided by a speed friendly racing strip that day.

The ninth race is a state bred second level optional claimer that drew a field of 10. It is another wide-open race and I plan on going deep.

The finale is a $40,000 maiden claimer on turf and drew a full field. Splendid Gold (3-1) and Hatta’s Appeal (6-1) look appealing but it another challenging race to come up with the winner.

We could see the pool grow close to $1 million, and with the large fields, it is going to take playing crafty tickets to take down the pool.

Analysis: Heavy Hitter stalked the early pace and came with a mild late run to finish third last out for this tag, beaten three lengths for the top spot. The gelding has shown improvement and another move forward looks good enough to get the job done here. This gelding has five sibs that are winners including stakes winner Big Screen ($363,837).

Rick Ant tracked the early pace and did not have enough punch left late in a fourth place finish against $40,000 foes. He drops into a softer spot here tagged for $20,000. He is a half to four winners including a pair of stakes winners, top earner Lucky Livi ($275,591).

Analysis: Lucky Lurie took plenty of action in his debut despite Hennig being on the light side with firsters and the colt showed some grit battling on in the stretch to win by a neck over Love That Jazz. The colt is a good-looking son of Girolamo and figures to move forward off his debut effort. He picks up Castellano with Maragh out injured.

Love That Jazz brushed a foe coming out of the gate, showed good early zip setting the early fractions and battled on gamely, missing by just a neck at 5-1. The Asmussen barn usually moves them forward second out and the top pair just look quicker than the rest of the field here, which looks likely to produce a chalky exacta.

Analysis: Midnight Storm had a three race winning streak snapped last out when he ran a game second to Talca in the Shoemaker Mile (G1) at Santa Anita, beaten a half-length for the top spot. His winning streak included a win in the Del Mar Derby (G2) here last August in his lone start at nine furlongs. The colt makes his third start off the layoff here for the Phillip D’Amato barn. He has landed in the exacta in seven of his nine career starts and owns the edge in early and mid pace numbers. He will be tough to catch in this spot.

Power Red made a good late rally to finish to third behind Finnegans Wake in the San Marcos and was placed second via a disqualification. The Neil Drysdale trainee won the Fitzsimmons two back at Turf paradise at a mile. His last three efforts have been his best speed fig wise and if Big Cazanova can give our top pick a battle early this guy may benefit. Worth tossing in the mix if he goes off near his 8-1 morning line.

Finnegans Wake is back on his preferred surface after checking in fourth in the Gold Cup at Santa Anita (G1) last out on dirt. He won the Woodward Reserve Turf Classic (G1) three back at Churchill Downs. His lone trip over the grass here was a win in the Hollywood Turf Cup (G2) when it was run here for the first time last November. He reunites with Victor Espinoza, who was aboard for his last five victories.

The class fig of today's affair is much lower than his last race. NIFTY NICKLE - Last time out, this gelding was up against a rougher crew. He has very good class ratings, averaging 70, and has to be considered here.

JOE'S LEGACY - Thoroughbred didn't land in the top three in last race, but did beat half the field, and made up ground in the stretch. A slight improvement and this horse should be right there at the wire.

DRILL SERGEANT - This horse ran his best speed figure in some time on the dirt in a route event. There may be a performance bounce today. RUNNING ON ETHEL - Unlikely that the rating he notched on June 12th will be enough in this event. ORPHAN SUN - If he goes off close to the morning line odds of 9/2, I'll have to pass.

JUST BLAKE - Samulak drops her down to this class level. You don't need too much more data to think this horse has a good chance at this level. This horse picks up a lot of money per race. Tops in this event. AVERY'S GOLD - After the affair aboard this horse on Jun 27th, the rider is going to know the filly much better. This filly has been working out well, and the recent bullet work says she's primed for a top effort today. I know the stable is serious today. The filly gets Lasix for the first time.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 ZIPLINE (ML=3/1), #3 IMPULSE IDEA (ML=7/2), #4 INFORM (ML=6/1),

ZIPLINE - Awfully hard to bet on this pony when she hasn't been showing any indications of eagerness of late. IMPULSE IDEA - I'm prognosticating a less than stellar attempt out of her this time around. INFORM - This racer hasn't shown very much in the last couple of contests. No accomplishments for this less than sharp equine in a short distance event over the last 60 days tells me that this filly is in a tough circumstance

For you folks who are unfamiliar with New York "Geography," the village of Rockville Centre, New York is located just a few miles southeast of Belmont Park. The name is derived from an esteemed early member of the community, Mordecai "Rock" Smith, an 18th century preacher, community leader, blacksmith, farmer, and justice of the peace. It holds a place in pop culture as the setting for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Residents have included turf writer Pete Axthelm, Hall of Fame rider Eddie Arcaro, pop star Billy Idol, Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax, comedian Amy Schumer, reality television show star Bethenny Frankel, and radio personality Howard Stern. Here in just the 2nd running of this stakes test, #2 LUCKY LURIE comes off a "POWER RUN WIN" to break his maiden in his "first asking," and will feel that "Lasix Lift" for the 2nd time today. #3 LOVE THAT JAZZ, was 2nd in that race 22 days ago here at Belmont Park, missing his "diploma" in that race by just a "photographed neck" at the wire. He's out of the Not For Love lineage, whose progeny have hit the board in 42% of more than 16,400 combined lifetime starts to date.

Race 1

(8) PILLAGE AND BURN made easy work of the field last week at this level. (7) BOYS ROUND HERE raced gamely last out from a tough post; threat. (10) CALLHIMAFOOL could be a sleeper at a price but will need a good setup from the far outside.

Race 2

(3) FOX VALLEY CHINO nice looking 2-year old was an impressive winner in his first lifetime start. The pacer has plenty of room to improve. (4) WONDROUS SPORT his winning effort at Maywood last week was powerful going a nice back half; top driver's choice. (5) SHOOTIN TO KILL raced greenly in his debut but flashed ability.

Race 3

(5) LIKEAFIREBALLSHOT freshman filly didn't look the best until the top of the stretch where she closed with authority. The pacer has lots of upside in her second career start. (1) CHAR N MARG just missed last out racing gamely; threat. (4) FOX VALLEY GYPSY the pacer owns a nice win over the track but needs a good drive from a provisional pilot.

Race 4

(3) ROYALE ROSE will look to turn the tables on his main rival this time out. The 2-year-old will likely look to hit the top spot early in the mile. (2) BS TYRRIFIC held the top choice at bay late last week earning a nice victory. The pacing gelding will look to make it three straight to kick off his career. (7) THESLEAZYPRINCE has much more ability that what's shown on paper and will offer a big price.

Race 5

(9) FOX VALLEY REWARD faces a tough task from the far outside in her 2-year-old debut, however the filly put in a very nice qualifier and could be a good one. (2) SARA'S TERROR looks to be in line for a great trip up close. (7) NARCISSTIC flashed big ability in her debut and faces easier shipping in from out east.

Race 6

(6) DAN D DUNE was the driver's choice coming off a nice effort at Maywood. (3) GOINDUNESIDE looks to be primed for a big effort with a few starts under his belt. The pacer was impeded last out but made up good ground late. (7) SAGEBRUSH SAM has been knocking on the door and will be firing early.

Race 7

(1) SPORTSMUFFLER didn't get to pace the entire length of the stretch last start. The sophomore filly pacer gets the best post and should offer value. (2) SOUTHERN GIRL went a huge effort first up last week to win a nice stakes race. (8) FOX VALLEY CHARM has already beat this bunch but will likely need more from the outside.

Race 8

(9) DINKY DUNE was razor sharp prior to last start. The 3-year-old will look to get back on track and will be used aggressively early. (8) DIXIE'S BOY has been very inconsistent from week to week. A good effort puts him on the ticket. (2) LUCPARK came up a little short last out against open company but drops back down to state bred competition.

Race 9

(5) FEELNLIKEAROCKSTAR faces older but went some big efforts at this track against similar earlier in the year. (1) SILVER DEVIL needed his last start and gets the best starting post; threat. (7) PARK LANE HOT SHOT was the driver's choice and was a game winner last start at this track.

Race 10

(6) ALLABOUTME HANOVER well bred pacer was better than his line looks last start and will offer a nice price. (5) MAJOR MONET owns back class and faces a very weak bunch, however the pacer has had a very hard time finding the winners circle; use caution. (3) SAGE RUCK usually jumps up with one big effort a year.

Race 11

In a wide open and evenly matched race (9) BET ON HIM gets sent out first start for a new barn and is versatile. (3) SVAYA KNOWS is capable of beating this field with a good setup. (10) REX PASSUS was impressive last start kicking home nicely; threat.

Race 12

(4) SUNSET DREAMER went a tough trip on a sloppy track last start. The well bred gelding was sharp prior winning two straight. (3) VITAL TERROR appears to be turning it around and has been knocking on the door. (9) ACES AGAIN could need a start having been off two months but the pacer has put in some big efforts at this track in the past.

Race 1

(2) STATION THREEOHSIX lands back inside and was a winner when last at this level; veteran is worth a long look in a race with suspect favorites. (4) SAND BENELLI rarely wins but he's been a solid check-earner recently. (1) VILLAGE BEAT returned locally and finished with some interest from a tough spot; clearly the post relief will do him good.

Race 2

(1) OHOKA TEXAS N is up in class off a loss for a third consecutive start but he's raced well in all recent and Carlson should work out a perfect trip from this spot. (4) SECRETSOFTHEKNIGHT comes out of claimers after being taken for 25K by unproven connections; he does seem live however and should be considered. (2) NATIONAL DEBT finally got that elusive first seasonal win last out versus lesser but it was no means impressive.

Race 3

(3) SOMETHINGINTHEWIND went a tough two-move trip last week and while he never seriously threatened he did hold well for a board spot; chance to move forward tonight. (2) WINTER BLUES proved stubborn on the front end in his debut at this high claiming level. (1) VALIDUS DEO is in for this 75K tag tonight and the Bamond trainee gets needed post relief; he was Bartlett's choice over the sharp (4) TYE SEELSTER.

Race 4

(7) LUMINOSITY ran his race but was collared by the trip-sitting Melady's Monet; I can't see that one sitting a similar trip so this Burke-trained gelding could go the distance. (6) BOFFIN arrives from Ohio and joins the live Lorentzon barn; interesting. (8) MELADY'S MONET has been rock-solid all year long and would certainly not be a shock, even from this tough spot.

Race 5

(3) TAILGUNNER HANOVER jogged in his Sheppard elimination with a confident Ray Schnittker at the controls. While he did benefit from the heavy favorite breaking in that race, he still looked like he could have gone around again with ease. Youngster should be controlling the action again. (5) RODEO ROCK took bad steps while chasing from the pocket last week, but recovered enough to make the final. He's another that should be forwardly placed. (8) DO OVER HANOVER was an easy winner in his elim where he rated the pace after leaving from his inside spot. Jim Campbell trainee will have to work much harder tonight.

Race 6

(6) E Z NOAH returns to Yonkers now debuting for the potent Allard barn. He's admittedly been facing lesser competition lately but has been winning in dominating front-end fashion. Worth a look if the price is right. I would love (8) GREAT VINTAGE had he not drawn the dreaded eight hole. Still, he's razor-sharp and must be included. (5) CLEAR VISION is still winless in 2015 but we know the double-millionaire is more than capable.

Race 7

(2) LIFE UP FRONT didn't really fire with his best last week, but wasn't really bad either. Veteran is always capable from an inside post with a live trip. (3) LIMELIGHT BEACH probably would have been better off in the 4YO Open rather than this more seasoned competition but he should carry his speed a long way here. (5) MR HASANI N was well-driven to an upset win last out by Tyler Buter.

Race 8

(7) BIG BOY DREAMS was a tad overmatched in stakes action but the Allard trainee was an easy winner when last in with this kind. (6) IDEAL COWBOY set a wicked pace last out and held all but the trip sitter. He's a speed threat again. (4) IDEAL WILLIE was buried last out and never got involved; prior efforts were good and he can be included at a price.

Race 9

(6) O'SUNDLAND went a big effort in defeat last out, where he took a lot of air pulling coverless from the back. Early speed combined with a smoother trip makes him an upset candidate. (4) BIG N BAD returns from stakes action and was facing better when last seen locally; logical. (3) CLASSIESISTAR N drops a touch and could threaten on best.

Race 10

(1) OPEN WATER lacks the class of others but he's been good since the barn change to Banca and he draws inside of some suspect rivals. (2) BJ'S GUY faltered last out at odds-on with little excuse but he still fits nicely here. (5) AMERICAN RAGE is up in class looking for two straight.

Race 11

(5) TWEET ME put in a decent uncovered bid versus better before tiring last out. Mare can power by this type. (3) CASHONTHEROCS really gets tested for class tonight but he looked powerful ripping out of the pocket last week. (1) SEVRUGA has good speed and the best draw.

Race 12

(4) FRANKIES DRAGON had trouble reaching last out from the tough post but his prior efforts from similar spots such as this have been good. (3) FORTY FIVE RED had pace but no chance last week; his early speed should be on display here. (1) ALBERTO CONTADOR N was a well-rated winner last out versus one notch lesser; he'll have to work harder to repeat.
