Entered a tournament for SA today, which is a little outside my comfort zone but I am sharing my picks and some thoughts in case anyone is interested.
R1 - #7 Zookeeper (15-1) both the #1 and #6 look tough to beat, but the outside post and the weight allowance are enough to draw me in to taking a chance on the long shot.
R2 - #1 Starship Defiant (2-1) loves the track and should be fine as long as he doesn't get pushed too hard early on.
R3 - #3 Bubbles For Mia (20-1) with three Stay Thirsty fillies entered, I am landing on the longest price. Kind of a crap shoot here, so why not?
R4 - #5 Paulina's Star (4-1) Phoenix invader had everything go wrong in debut but never quit. Love this one.
R5 - #1 Hoop Dream (8-1) the 1 for 7 six year old gets blinkers off and a drop in class. Should be overlooked at the windows and I'm not enamored with the likely favorite.
R6 - #2 Drizella (5-1) what a crap field - going with the 2nd time Lasix angle for a filly who has done her best work on this track.
R7 - #7 Aventapp (4-1) always seems to have a chance in the stretch. Will be on the lead, but how much patience will Tyler show?
R8 - #2 Lisette (9-5) God I hate 3 horse fields.
R9 - #9 Wetherly (12-1) nice 3-race pattern with increasing Beyers highlighted by her best run on grass for the first time. Three works since that one with a bullet (.47) in there. Maybe she's finally maturing?
