Jack come on man… <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
1. It is <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on">Northern Guanacaste</st1:place><o:p></o:p>
2. You took ten friends (I guess you were afraid too)<o:p></o:p>
3. Dude nobody gives a fuck about ticos visiting, truth is we aren't haters like you. I have taken many of my friends over to several parts of <st1:country-region w:st="on">Nicaragua</st1:country-region> and they keep going and praising <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Nicaragua</st1:place></st1:country-region> and its beauty and how warm their people is. @)@)@)

I do not get why you hate us so much to the point of lying. Honest

1. I compared it to Northern Guanacaste 'cause I hope greenshoes has been to Roca Bruja so it would be a good point of comaprison for him.
2. Ten friends 'cause that's how many wanted to surf Nicaragua. Not sure why I even waste my time answering... On a surf trip, the fewer people the better. So its not like its a wise idea to try to get a bunch of people to go.
3. And now you're gonna deny there's tension between countries?.....

Issues with the rights over Rio San Juan, we don't want it, we just wanna be abe to navigate freely through it.
Immigration issues.
Too many Nicas living in Costa Rica, the ones who come here to work and be good citizens I have no problem with. But unfortunately we do get the rotten apples also.
Nicas get mistreated here.
We think we're the shit and a lot of ticos are very xenophobic towards nicas.
Some nicas don't like ticos, I'm telling you this 'cause a lot of people there told us that. Even Nicaraguan surfers openly spoke about how much they disliked ticos, and surfers in general most of the time are pretty cool people.
We gave 2 surfer kids a ride back into town in the back of our truck and they stole our sunblock. After giving them rides to the break on several ocassions, even driving out of our way to pick them up or drop them off in their house, one of them confessed about the stuff he and his friends had stolen from us. It wasn't stuff that was very valuable but it still sucked, never got anything back. They said that they really didn't care much for ticos.
There is animosity towards ticos, I'm telling you 'cause I saw it with my own eyes. I was there during Semana Santa when they set up all those bars ("toldos") along the beach, and yes we met some cool people. But also a few wanted to start shit after their drunk asses realized we were ticos.
I guess you missed that video where the Nica journalist makes fun of Costa Ricans on National TV. I quickly looked for it on youtube but couldn't find it. So yes, there is tension, not too bad, but you can't deny there is some.

But like I said... beautiful country, too bad there's so much poverty and that the goverment was so corrupt for so many years. I always encourage people to visit Nicaragua.

You can say whatever you want; to be honest the reason why I always point out your comments is simply because you are part of the vicious circle. I hate this or hate that is BS. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
Let me tell you an anecdote. I have being living here since I ma 17 I miss this country as it was my own when I am in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Nicaragua</st1:place></st1:country-region>. I have made my life here and do not plan on going back to my country. I have two daughters and one of them is 8 years old. Just yesterday 2 hours after I left her at school my phone rang. It was her teacher she wanted me to come and get her. In the first recess another kid had hit her and thrown her down a hill just because she is not white and had nica blood. The kid is just 8 years old. He confessed to the teacher that he hates nicas. My little girl also told me that he always tells her ugly things. I was angry and felt realy realy bad. But I was not angry at the little boy but at his parents. It is truly very unfortunate that this kid is learning hate and not love at his house. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
I honestly believe that there is good and bad every where we go, the jailhouse is not full of all nicas or foreigners, and if we speak of percentages well there are a lot less bad nicas than you claim. That most of us are poor, yes but that does not make you automatically a criminal. A lot of the people that sweat blood honestly, built your malls, hospitals, stores, houses, roads and change your own country, just like the Irish and the Italians in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">US</st1:country-region></st1:place> are nicas. An immigrant does not only bring problems to the country their visit, I know so many ticos that have a nica father/mother grandfather that I can’t even count them.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
In regards to the claim that many at there is a video from a guy hating ticos. Is true I saw the news one of this mornings and I was honestly disgusted by the video. Not because of my friends are mostly ticos but also because I feel that what it was shown on that video is not the feeling of many people I know here and over there. Nicaraguans are simple, hard working people and we are normally tag as even stupid for that reason. We simply are not as sophisticated as ticos but we are not haters. The relation between the rivas people and the people from Guanacaste might show more of this difference, which will affect the way some want to treat you. If you were actually hated in my country believe me you would not wanna go. No black people wanna visit a KKK infested town and would neither suggested is just not practical. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
So bottom line, please forgive me if I take you as a xenophobic asshole, if you’re not I am sorry but your comments simply make you look as such. If you visit my country I promise I will try to be the best host you’ll ever meet and I believe Nicaraguans are that. If you disagree please ask VD and Wapner they love to eb love by Nicaraguans jajajaja<o:p></o:p>

....anyways fellows made it back last night!!! good times good times!! so we took tica buss to the border hopped off and grabed a taxi to San Juan Del Sur (25 bones) we hit a nice resturant on the beach ate some amazing food (40 bones) then our waiter kindly showed us to the weed guy.. got a sack of cajeta (30 bones)stayed at a pink hotel infront of the beach (35 bones) not the nicest of places but whatever it was cheap ... decided that San Juan just wasnt our cup of tea so hopped a taxi to playa madera and got dropped off on the beach

There isnt much to Playa Madera just the way it should be, just a 2 story shack on the beach where the make shift resturant and hostel was... we asked how much to stay .. all they had was a dorm room style shit hole (7 bones for a bed a night) opted against this and they mentioned some other places down the beach so we are walking down the beach and see this crazy stair case leading up the cliff it said private property but we decided to check it out anyways ... beautiful house on this cliff over looking everything and it seems was vacant but it had to be expensive so we find the care taker and she calls the lady of the house but the lady says no cause she needs a contract signed and deposit .... so we talk a bit with the care taker and she says she will hook us up with a room for the 2 nights we asked (all under the table of course) what a sweet lady ... turns out this is the swedish embasadors house ... what a deal we got !!!

spent the next two days surfing and laying on the beach .. the water was pretty damm cold and had a shit ton of jelly fish(seems that time of the season) but very few people on the beach which is awesome!! found a man named crazy dave at his hideout surf camp, some crazy canadian with a pet monkey ... good people !! great trip all around and would recomend Playa Madera all day long!! Last day arranged the same taxi to pick us up and take us back to the border (30 bones) hopped a buss back to chepe and thats that...........Nicaragua is F_cking amazing place!!!

..but the border is a f_cking mess so expect around 1 hour comming in and leaving the border...

Quite a few gringos brought property in SanJuan: prices are relatively cheap if you can stomach the whole political uncertainty. The San Juan beach itself is crappy (quite literally), but there are some great beaches in the nearby area. IIRC, Travis Knight (former NBA stiff) built himself a nice house there.

Also as an aside, there's a relatively notorious murder case where a gringo was charged with killing a local San Juan girl. the case was very shaky, but the gringo got railed into Nicaraguan jail, a place you really don't want to go. His story made it into 60 minutes and he eventually got released after spending a couple years in prison.

to be blunt, there is nothing uncertain about politics in Nicaragua

the idiots elected this guy .......there is noone else to blame but them, plus Ortega is empowered by his buddy Chavez

We better get used to seeing him in power for a decade or more
