anyone of the 16 teams that made the playoffs can win the cup. Except the teams already eliminated in the first round.

Last year, the Blues won the first 2 games at home against the defending Cup champs. Then they lost 4 straight. This year, the Blues won the first 2 games at home against the defending Cup champs and then they lost 4 straight. Ryan Miller obviously wasn't the answer and Halak wasn't the problem. Like I said when the trade was made.

actually i am anaheim duck fan, but watch a lot of hockey.
personally, i didn't really care who won the stl/chi series.
but i must admit it was compelling well-played hockey.
either of those 2 teams could of won the cup with the right
bounces. shame they squared off in the opening round.

Anaheim looks very solid right now, that's for sure!

miller was a definite disappointment,
he won't be coming to anaheim, not with
john gibson ready to take the net. the ducks will
be hard pressed to win another series this year,
unless their defense plays much better or if hiller
reverts to his 2009form. they do match up well
with sj or la, but they are not playing like they
were at the first of the year.

I am and will continue to be an diehard Blues fan. I was excited to get Miller and won't be a hypocrite now. It didn't work out. My hat is off to the hated Blackhawks but they deserve it. Crawford outplayed Miller, and the top scorers outscored the Blues scorers. The Blues missed the net 92 times in the series. I guess I now understand a bit how the Cubs feel after watching the Cardinals go to the post season every year.

miller does want to go west, but the ducks already have 2 strong rookie
goalies and a UFA in hiller. gibson may be a better goalie than miller
now and at least will be in the very near future. they already traded away a
good goaltender to edmonton this year to make playing time for the rookies, i just can't
see them signing an outside UFA to a big money long term contract, especially
where he might only be a very short term upgrade and would hinder the
development of their future in net. even if they re-sign hiller it would unlikely
be for more than 2 years unless he is unbelievable in the playoffs.

as a Kings fan I can relate, I waited forever to finally get a cup, and having Anaheim come into the league and get one quick, was salt in the wound. The Blues are well on their way, they just need one more piece. IMO that piece wasn't goaltending, what I thought they needed was a sniper.

they needed something, although that something could have been as simple as
avoiding the hawks in the first round or better health. a decent dose of good
luck might of done the trick too, but they aren't called the blues for nothing.
