Day 1 of the Australian Open
Tennis Majors is investing the daily full capital on the following event, that in our opinion is absolutely the best bet of the Day 1 of the Australian Open and a clear mistake by the bookies.

Ryan Harrison to beat Nicolas Mahut

Date: 16 January 2017
Time: 11.00am Local Time (01.00am CET)
Tournament: Australian Open (Men's)
Round: 1st

Event: Ryan Harrison vs Nicolas Mahut

PICK: Ryan Harrison TO WIN
Odds: 1.80
Strength: Full Confidence

Ryan Harrison is a talented American 24 years old player.
Harrison is what you call the classic American hard court player, in fact he has a very nice service and forehand, with a basic backhand, playing an aggressive tennis that on surfaces like the hard court can payoff very much.
Ryan Harrison had a great start of his career at a very early age, afterwards with the coincidence of a couple of injuries he didn't play anymore the same tennis, but he is slowly going back to his potential tennis and we are sure that this season will be likely his season.

He played already two tournaments this season, losing against Dodig in Brisbane on a very close match on a surface that is faster than the Australian Open and it helped the Croatian Ivan Dodig and winning three matches in straight sets in Auckland, on the same surface as the Australian Open. He finally lost in three sets against a great player like Sock but still fighting and playing a great tennis.
He got early here in Melbourne, we watched Harrison having practice for the last couple of days and he looks in a very perfect shape and confidence.

Nicolas Mahut is an experienced French player of 34 years old.

Nicolas Mahut loves to play on indoors surfaces because the points are short, the surface is very fast and his serve and volley that is the base of his tennis is extrmely effective.
He bases his game just on a great service and a very efficient game to the net.
He never played good at the Australian Open because the surface is too slow for his tennis and because playing outdoors the hot conditions makes his job way harder.

He played a couple of tournaments on the beginning of this season and he lost and won two matches playing an average tennis.

Keys

Weather:

In Australia is incredibly hot during the month of January and the humidity is very high.

Playing on a 3/5 sets match makes your physical shape a clear fundamental impact on the match and Ryan Harrison, 24 years old has a shape no way comparable on the long run regarding the 34 years old French player Nicolas Mahut.

Adjustments on the Surface:
For Ryan Harrison is the perfect surface to play, being outdoors, hard courts, not extremely fast and pretty similar to the US Hard Courts that he loves.

For Nicolas Mahut instead is very slow regarding what he likes, and the weather makes it also worst.

3/5 Sets:
For Ryan Harrison to play 3 hours or more is not a problem, for Mahut with this weather conditions is just too tough in our opinion and if you get tired during the match is always harder to serve and move good, things that for him are just a must.

Passing Shots and Returns:
Both players have a great service, but Ryan Harrison is absolutely better on the passing shots and returns with either forehand and backhand and on the other side Nicolas Mahut especially with the backhand is not really able to do the same thing, expecting both players attacking the net, this aspect goes totally for the young American.

Baseline Game:
There is no doubt that Harrison is way better from the baseline, he can hit better, make less unforced errors and get more winners.

Verdict:
All the keys of this match are in favor of Ryan Harrison and 1.80 is way too much for this match, where in our opinion the bookies are doing an incredible mistake and odds for the American on this match, considering the 3/5 sets shouldn't be higher than 1.30.

We do really thing and expect Ryan Harrison winning this match.
