Its great to see your obvious enthusiasm for a sport that you really weren't into until recently. It a great feeling to have a "where have you been all my life?" moment. That's what life's about.
The atmosphere in hockey playoff games is almost indescribable to someone that hasn't been. Take it all in. You are really lucky to have a team loaded with that kind of talent. Some cities go decades without having that.
This might sound surprising, It might even sound stupid but I think it is true:
The main problem that keeps Hockey from gathering a wider US audience is that we have been conditioned by our Sports to be able to SEE the Ball go in for a score. In Hockey its so often just a ferocious battle by a net that results in GOAL!!! and only on very slow mo replay can you see puck go in.
As silly as it sounds...I think simple
conditioning of our brains (like...
what we are accustomed to) as Americans presents an obstacle to gaining widespread love for Hockey.
We've been trained to feel great passion by being able to see the ball at the time of the score and in Hockey its just blam blam blam
GOAL can't see the puck score cuz its a blur.
