While Rutgers' excellent defense makes the team look promising tonight by limiting Michigan State's scoring output, defense is also an underrated source of scoring. The Spartans are relatively vulnerable, compared to other Big Ten teams, at turning it over. With its length, great on-ball defending, and teamwork, Rutgers can accrue steals and use those steals to achieve easy baskets. Rutgers' half-court offense will also be effective with its ball-screen game. But the Spartans will still add enough to the total to help the game go "over" because the Scarlet Knights allow opponents to attempt a high rate of threes, and Michigan State has some highly efficient shooters.
