There is a sick culture down here ...

Hell, I make a comment that I didnt agree with nuking the 2nd city in WW2 cause the Japs were ready to surrender and get my ass jumped for hating America???

And remember how the Bushies made a big deal about Hussein using chemcials during the Iran - Iraq war????

Well, said ... we invaded and occupied a Muslim country illegally .. have wrecked havoc in that country ... and invaded on lies ... yet, that is ok by the Neo-Cons as the USA is there to "Democratise Iraq" ... Please, like this coun try gives a damn??? NO OIL in Iraq and we would not give a crap

I know Americans that actually think they are better than Iraqis ... seen many posts at difft sites "that we should nuke the mid east and turn it into a parking lot and screw them camel jockeys .."

The avg American is clueless how good we have it

Funny guy. If you're not careful, I'm going to lead you to a gay bar in August. Maybe even leave you there.

Awesome...we don't have those type of bars down here in Jesusland. I better start practicing the "I'm not gay, I just like to suck cock" line...do you think it would help if I could say that in French?

I have not. I don't know enough about the issue, frankly, and nor do I have the time to study it. I'm a little focused on getting this thesis together, and it's all about you guys.

(I have, though, posted about the French, Belgian and Dutch gov'ts and their adoption of some fascist traits. But, then, fascism is the focus of my thesis, so that makes sense.)

BERLIN (Reuters) - Lawyers acting for a U.S. advocacy group will today file war crimes charges in Germany against senior U.S. administration officials for their alleged role in torture at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Filing charges against the secretary of defense for an incident which occured on the other side of the planet without his knowledge? Grand. This would be like filing drug charges against Bill Gates if a Microsoft mail clerk in Paris, Texas was caught dealing drugs to employees.

Unless they can find proof that Rummy was in a meeting, pounded his fist on the table, and said "I WANT TO SEE A NAKED PILE OF IRAQIS BEFORE ANYONE LEAVES!!"...this charge will be about as serious as non-payment of dues to an unauthorized Elvis fan club.

"German law in this area is leading the world,"

...in stupidity. Finish your sentances, Herr Weiss...

I took a blood oath, as part of my boycott, to learn no more than 5 French words in my lifetime. To remain true to myself, I have to draw the line. "Je ne suis pas gai" will be my French destiny. You can have the "Mais, J'aime sucer des penis" quote, Xpanda. We could even have a nice little drinking game with that...after every shot I'll stand on the bar and practice my French, and you can stand on the bar and shot out yours.

Could be fun.

It took you all day to come up with this, didn't it?

Very good, by the way.

Finally got back in to catch up with this thread.....

So is this German movement based on German laws or is it based on the Geneva convention which governs a broad range of countries based on international law?

I'm getting the sense that there is a basic mindset.....yeah, all these countries signed it and agree to conform to the laws and the structure imposed.....yet when it comes to adhering to those laws.....it's more or less "screw that part, were immune to following that law, it's for someone else to follow and we can't be prosecuted if we decide to break it."

So what's the point in having rules if countries get to pick and choose which ones they are going to follow, and snub thier nose if someone cries "foul"???

You people sure get worked up over some pretty stupid sh*t. there isnt going to be any war crimes trial for Rumsfeld or anyone else in this administration - thats a fact. The germans and the french will continue to try to make waves over Iraq whenever they can - thats a fact. and the americans will continue to ignore them - another fact. Relax people , everything is going to be OK.

Of course Rumsfeld isn't going to be charged with anything. That's not the point. Any good grassroots movement knows that the key to success is publicity. Just ask the suffragettes.

This story has travelled all the way from Germany to North American .. I'd say the PR is working; we're talking about it, aren't we?

Reminds me of a joke:

Three couples, finishing dinner, sitting around. French couple, Canadian couple and an American couple.

French guy says to his wife: 'ah, cheri, could yu paz me tha sugah, sugah?'

Not to be outdone, Canadian guy to his wife: 'ah, lovey, could you pass me the honey, honey? Eh?'

American to his wife: 'could ya' pass me the tea, bag?'

(Sorry it's all I got.)

Good one!

Here is one I thought was cute....(I can't believe I just said cute)

Harold is 95 and lives in a senior citizen home. Every night after dinner, Harold goes to a secluded garden behind the center to sit and ponder his accomplishments and longevity. One evening, Mildred, age 87, wanders into the garden. They begin to chat, and before they know it, several hours have passed. After a short lull in their conversation,

Harold turns to Mildred and asks, "Do you know what I miss most of all?"

"What?" she asks.

"SEX!!" he replies.

Mildred exclaims, "Why you old fart, you couldn't get it up if I held a gun
to your head!"

"I know," Harold says, "but it would be nice if a woman could just hold it
for a while."

"Well, I can oblige," says Mildred, who unzips his trousers, removes his manhood and proceeds to hold it. Afterward, they agree to meet secretly each night in the garden where they would sit and talk and Mildred would hold Harold's manhood.

Then, one night, Harold didn't show up at the usual meeting place. Mildred becoming alarmed, decided to find Harold and make sure he was allright. She walked around the senior citizen home where she found him sitting by the pool with another female resident, Ethel, who was holding Harold's manhood!

Furious, Mildred yelled, "You two-timing creep! What does Ethel have that I don't have?"

Old Harold smiled happily and replied, "Parkinson's".

You're right in a manner of speaking. There's a lot of paperwork dealing with contacts with foreigners. I had to send your translation to my French connection to make sure what you said was really what you said you said. Then I kicked that up to the humor department, which made a reply that was checked over by me. I then had to show that to my Department of Canadian Affairs...they realize how sensitive you guys are to slights from your southern neighbors so they insist on checking everything over. After that, to the French department it goes. These guys make sure that what is about to be posted is shows enough disrespect to the French to keep my American brothers like Patriot and Gameface off my back. Finally it comes back to me, doublechecked, and then posted on therx.com.

Bureaucracy sucks. With Americans, I can simply say "Fukk off Doc Mercer", giggle a bit, claim victory in my argument then move on. Not so with you guys.
