Hache, Matt has tons of experience in fighting. Trains at respected gyms that pro fighters come out of and has judged many fights.

When he tells you that you are being completely delusional, you should atleast consider the possibility

agree. She's over-confident here, and over-confidence is bad news normally. However, she's paid to represent just what she is saying, however far fetched it may seem to many. Afterall, she's chasing huge paydays just like Floyd...

BTW, I saw your siggy. That Pinarello is one badass cycle. They've got em 20% off here right now.

thks, had a blue collar Biachi for many yrs. Loved that bike. The Pinarello is an entirely different class- went all in with the wheels and Di2. In the words of Greg Lemond ; 'it doesn't get any easier you just get faster' :)

You guys know how people who have watched wrestling for years get offended when you say anything about it being fake, because they don't want to see or admit the truth because it would ruin it for them?

I kinda think that's the case here with those who believe Rousey is bad enough to beat most men.

What's happening with her right now in the fight-word is exciting for all of us, but i think some believe that admitting she's not invincible or that sge couldn't stand toe to toe with an average guy, would ruin it all for them...

That's so off base with me it's not even funny. I'm not even a big fan of the woman to be honest, don't think she's invicible by anymeans (think Nunes eventually beats her), but I know elite skill when I see it. Man or Woman, the "average person" doesn't have her abilities, nor have they ever gotten off their lazy asses and ever been to any kind of gym. I don't get offended, and I'm around this sport a lot, and most of what people say is true, the judging and reffing is the worst at the top levels, i.e. UFC. Sad to see.

I need to get my friend to sign up here and tell his story of how he begged to go to the local boxing gym to fight because he could "kick everyone's ass" and laugh because he had zero training at all. Man, that is one funny story not in his favor...

Based on your siggy, I'm gonna say you definitely have the stamina to keep up with her in a fight. So, do you think as a male you have what it takes to beat her? lol

no fuckin way would i beat her.

do you think you can take her?

Excellent point & you keep askig that question but nobody answers.

But when they do the answer will be "No but Ronda Rousey isn't just ANY girl"...lol

Wrong, but I'd love to see you guys attempt to hold down Gabi Garcia.

And as soon as she did that, put your body weight and muscle on top of her.

Think of it this way. Have you ever met a girl you couldn't hold down if you wanted too?

Before I went to a higher level track-and-field meet in college I never met a woman who could run faster than me, but they did exist. In my entire life I have never met a woman who could lift more weight than I could. But some of them do exist in this world. So just as I have never met a female who I couldn't easily take in a fight, just means I haven't ever met a top professional female fighter

Great way to look at it.

In 2014 there were only two American males who could beat the top woman in the world in weightlifting: http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Weightlifting/Features/2014/July/21/2014-National-Championships

This is a vague statement. There are a shit ton more than 2 men that can out-do the top woman in the world in weightlifting trust me. Maybe two out of the # that attempted to beat her but there's regular guys at gyms who rep her max.

Ronda may be able to out-wrestle me although I got a good amount of strength and weight on her. Good jiu jitsu artists and wrestlers always use your strength and leverage against you. If I caught her with an even average punch though it would be lights out.

We all would have a hard time looking away from males and females competing in sports at the top level, whether it was Serena Williams or Brittney Griner. Especially if it was something like Rousey vs Mayweather. That fight would get over $1 billion in pay-per-view. Unfortunately it's never going to happen

But there are sports where females and males can be compared against each other nearly perfectly: track-and-field, swimming, weightlifting, cycling, auto racing, even gymnastics. And in every single case, the top females absolutely destroy average males

No. I know I have the power to knock her out for sure, and I just may be able to do it if I can catch her quickly, but most likely she closes the distance on me and takes me down (I weigh 190 right now, but I'm not an elite D1 college level wrestler so my TDD isn't the greatest), where I think I could last 3-5 minutes (I feel that way with just about everyone), but would eventually get subbed, most likely to that nasty arm bar, which I do know how to defend at a decent level. I'm in decent shape, she's in fighting shape, and trains daily.

I agree with your bottom statement, but I'd love for you to take me to a local gym where guys are repping out 425 lb clean and jerks.

That was at USA Weightlifting Championships. Maybe there were a few other American weightlifters who could have done better, but not very many.

In 2012 the US sent one male weightlifter to the Olympics, he lifted a combined 782 pounds in the two lifts. The woman's world record is 767 pounds. So the best American is better. Just not by very much. The woman's heavyweight record is also better than every American male in history up to the 170-pounds

I may have played Division I tennis and i may have not.

But just because i have, and i say Andre Agassi is better but Matt says Sampras is better, does it make my opinion right?

Of course not.

This is fun conversation.

Nobody should be getting offended.

This isn't track & field, basketball, or boxing.

We're talking FULL contact and it's just baffling to some of us how some of you are completely underestimating the superiority of the average guys strength to even a female who is active in weight training.

It's a different type of strength than weight lifting.

There are every day high school male athletes who are quick and strong enough to take this girl out in seconds.

If you've played any type of sports growing up & athletic in any way then you can understand this...

I didn't know we had so many bad ass men in the RX... you would think this is a MMA forum, not a gambling forum where posters activities during weekends usually include tons of game watching, beer drinking, meat eating fun.

Everyone here is clueless... how many of you would still have breath after moving around and avoiding take downs, most here would be gasping for air after 1 minute, some would probably last 2 minutes running around from her, she catches you is game over.

I am willing to take action... I say from the 1000's of members this site has (ghosts included )maybe 1-2 posters are capable of competing with Rousey on a street fight... and even then... competing is not winning.

Where have I said that no one can beat her? I haven't. She isn't invicible, not even from another woman. We have a high school wrestler/Muay Thai guy here that I think can beat her, but I don't think I can. Maybe 1 out of 5 times, but no way everytime. So cough up Ole +400 for MattyMatt. It is what it is.

I misread what Tom posted. You're right. Actually I've never even seen anyone doing clean & jerks in any gym I've ever been to.

My point was that the top male athlete will always be stronger/faster than the top female athlete at any given strength or conditioning event.

Real talk. I haven't checked the ole queerdog forum for this topic, but I'm sure even those dummies know they can't even "compete" with Rousey. Nah, I doubt it...

Oh not offended at all. Totally agree, this is 1 of those great conversations guys have shooting the shit.

When I say you're delusional it is in a joking way.

Although she would F you up very badly. That isn't a joke. There is nothing funny about it. You would be hurt very, very badly.
