Korea Republic +0.5 (+108) Regulation Time Only
There is too much hype right now for Uruguay for the simple fact that they have looked unstoppable and they have not conceded a single goal so far this tournament but the Koreans are not going to sit back and they are not going to let Uruguay get comfortable. Korea Republic from what I have seen love to attack and they have several players who can attack from any area on the field. That should make the pace of this game quite interesting because Uruguay can either engage in that action and go for goals themselves or they can sit back, play defensively and go for the lone Italian style goal. If that's the case we are looking good for this game to be tied at the end of regulation time. Uruguay have had the pleasure of playing to a DRAW with France (arguably the worst team in this tournament who managed to score only one goal the entire World Cup) and then beating Mexico and South Africa who both looked like confused squads at time with the Mexicans only showing signs of life in one of six halves of football played this past two weeks. Both teams have actually been very disciplined and been shown only 3 yellow cards so this is an open game with no concerns for suspensions or no dirty habits but seeing how Korea Republic have allowed 6 goals in three games and seeing how Argentina lit them up for 4 goals in their second game of the group stage, you have to think that Oscar Tabarez is going to push La Celeste forward in an attempt to create something early against a team that has been shaky defensively. The problem with that is that the Koreans scored 5 goals and have no problem trading chances and opportunities with anyone really. Korean Republic have already exceeded expectations in this tournament, there is no pressure on them whatsoever to win this thing or to even advance to the next round and pride is all they are playing for right now with millions watching back home and supporting their heroes. Diego Forlan (Uruguay) versus Ji Sung Park (Manchester United) is going to be a treat to watch and both teams will only go as far as these two take them.
Don't be shocked in the end if Korea Republic pulls this off because they are very capable despite their horrendous track record against both Uruguay and South American teams. Times have changed, this is their first ever time reaching the second round outside of Asian soil and they are showing that their run in 2002 was no fluke. If anything Uruguay is going to have to win this in extra time or penalty shootouts and I am going to stick to my theory that Korea Republic can score a goal in regulation and either win or force some more time.
