Happy Canada Day!
A new season kicks off today and the Rider Nation is ready to roll.Pregame festivities starting all across the province.There is alot of optimism and everyone is ready for the season to start.These are my thoughts on the up coming season.
Offence should be solid.the o;line will be solid lots of veterns who are familiar with each other,they also added Goodspeed who has been a allstar the last 3seasons .they also have good depth.Recievers are solid as well.Fine group of canadian recievers with Dressler back and the addition of Roriguez at wideout,they should be expolsive.Qb Durant has come into his own and has command of the huddle.The depth at Qb is a concern.Dinwiddie is second string can he fill the void if durant goes down.That's a big concern.The rb's should Ok.Can Cates return to his old form if not Hugh Charles should fill in .Foord,Hughes,Szarka wil also fill in various roles in the backfield.Special teams have been upgraded with the addition of D.Dorsey as the returner.The kicking game should be fine with Congi placekicking and Sakoda punting.
The defence is the real concern.Both ends(Baggs,Chick)middle linebacker (Williams) and the retirement of Eddie Davis are going to be hard to replace.Hawkins,Mullinder will start at the ends.Coaching staff are raving about Hawkins only time will tell.Barrin Simpson will play middle linebacker and Mc Kenzie is athletic but doesn't have the leadership or knowledge of eddie ,this could really hurt this defence. the rest of the starting d is pretty solid and have played together for several years.

ressler great catches,Cates,Durant looked pretty good,o-line ok,special teams brutal blocked punt missed field goal returned for td.Defense horrible.Etcheverry overthinking,secondary blowing coverages.no pass rush,missed tckles,Sending a three man rush against Calvillo is suicide,13 men on the field in overtime wtf! not again.Going on a emotional rollercoaster,having 4 or 5 heart attacks,and seeing that kid on tv,face painted,rider gear on,on his dad's shoulders cheering like a mad man at the end of the game priceless.
