Excuse my language but Running Back Ricky Williams retiring after only 5 years in the NFL is a true ignorant as all hell person!

The first sign of a change in Ricky Williams came when he returned from vacation in Australia last winter with a shaved head, the distinctive dreadlocks gone. Now he's gone, too.

This guy is playing cat and mouse with the public, the fans and the NFL itself. Whatever reasons, he will go down as a loser who couldn't make it in life.

Ricky Williams just blew all that up for Wannstedt. He can take his training-camp speech selling the promise of a Super Bowl season to his players, tear it up and toss it in the trash.

What did Ricky Williams leave to do?

Like I said, what a ignorant person does to do, smoke marijuana and live wholesome for the next 10 years and not worry about getting tested or abusing the NFL's drug substance policy.

What a way to go out Ricky! To bad the money won't be coming in like it used to!

Ricky is not what you consider a smart businessman. The Dolphins are going to make him repay a substantial percent of his signing bonus. Remove the signing bonus and you don't have a huge amount of base salary.

Sure he made money on incentives but how much of it did he blow? It looks to me like his Fort Lauderdale house is heavily mortgaged out ($1.9 m) and who knows how much cash he has in the bank.

Hey asshole everydaygambler - this happens to be something I wrote about Ricky Williams - A "TRUE N######"

Like everyone else who heard the news waking up on Sunday morning about Ricky Williams retirement, I was shocked. But then I told my wife and she said, “I cant believe this doesn’t happen more often” and it got me thinking. She is right.

I have always liked Ricky Williams. One reason is that I share the same affliction that he has. Growing up, I had some very bad experiences with public speaking and would avoid it like the plague. I would avoid anything that would have me in front of a group of people having to speak. I was so bad for me that when I did try to do it my throat would actually close up and my breathing would intensify to the point that I would hyperventilate. Public speaking became a physical impossibility for me. I don’t know how, but I made it through high school, college, and grad school doing anything I could to avoid giving a presentation. I was willing to even sacrifice my career – I would almost literally rather die than have to do this. Then in the early ‘90’s a new diagnosis was being passed around called Social Anxiety Disorder. I read about it and it sounded like some of the symptoms I was having so I visited a shrink. He gave me a pill to take called Endural – it is basically used mostly for heart patients to regulate their heart beat but for people like me it would not allow my heartrate and physical symptoms to escalate. Slowly I started trying it out, and made great progress. Once I didn’t have the physical symptoms I used to – I was able to do speeches and presentations like a pro – and now I am a consultant and do it all the time without a second thought.

Now back to Ricky. I think that his disorder is far worse than mine but I always admired him for being open about it. I could also relate to his plight. I think he would rather DIE than do social things like interviews and press conferences so when he would leave his helmet on etc. I kind of could identify. But now he retires and everyone says things like he is a nutjob or he let his team down.

Let me ask any of you this – if you won the lottery would you stay at your job if you hated it? My wife asked me this after I told her the news. My answer is no. Its obvious that Ricky just didn’t like playing football – is that so bad? He wants to do other things in life. And essentially, he has already won the equivalent of a lottery with all the money he has put away.

Do you owe your employer anything? Let me tell you, the dolphins wouldn’t think twice about cutting or trading him just like in corporate life – so why does he owe them any more? Are you obligated to work out the rest of the year on a project at your work just because you started it? I don’t think so. You have to live life for yourself and that’s what he is doing. I actually admire him for that. What is so hard to believe about the fact that this guy doesn’t like football and the lifestyle? After thinking about it I cant understand why this doesn’t happen more often.

First off I'm sorry if it offended you but that's America. Some people can't handle the truth? I'm clearly going to give you my points and tell you how it is. Freedom of Speach ring a bell?

Miami's Front Office and Coaching Staff gave up a lot to get Ricky a couple of years ago and have since based their entire game around him. We all know Ricky would carry the ball 100 times in a game if they asked him to and the last carry would be just as effective as the first. So, my point is... why wait till now? Why do this to an organization that basically revolved around him. Ricky is an adult and can make his own decisions. But there was no profressionalism involved whatsoever. Therefore in my books, he is IGNORANT!

Let's face it... NFL players, despite how rough the game is, are living a dream that almost ANYONE would like to be a part of had God given us the talent. It sickens me to think Ricky is just giving that up.

Why couldn't he make his decision right after the season? It seemed to me he wanted to go out like this. Right after all the running backs are signed like an Eddie George so all the Dolphins have left with his T.Minor. Right before training camp opens up. Great move buddy.

Dancing around with the public, the fans who cheered for him and the business he was associated with is ignorant, citing bullcrap reasons as to why he left. When in reality all he wants to do is chill on an island somewhere and smoke a couple blunts and live like he is on top. If he wasn't rich maybe he can go back to the "hood" and hang with the homies? I dont know, but that's the truth I see.
